Many parents want that their kids would have high self. They want them to have self confidence to participate in school activities and some other programs where they would be exposed and would develop their talents. But what if the child has low self esteem. How parents help their child in this?
Any idea about this?

Compliment them. Say nice things to them.. Tell them that they are doing a good job when trying their best. Make them feel special and include them in things. Talk to them. Keep the communication open.. Encourage them to strive very hard.

Well, thanks for the suggestion. I think you're right. But there are some parents who have high expectations to their kids and when the kids can not come up with what the parents want to happen? they will get upset and deprived the kids of the things they suppose to have? What do you think about this?

I believe that it is wrong for a parent to expect too much out of their own child.. They are forcing the child to learn too quickly and this may cause extreme confusion with the learning process of the child.. They should balance out what they want to help their child with, so that it will be much easier for the child to understand what is going on.. Rushing a child is never the answer, it will only make things worse..
