I am not a christian however, I felt that I should respond to your post because I have several tattoos myself. I am a 24 year old nurse and mother of 2 little girls. At work I need to maintain professionalism at all times, and many facilities don't appreciate the body art. I for one, believe that if you feel like you want to have a tattoo, then you should get one. Just realize that the tattoo you get is forever so it must be something you are going to be happy with. Although the facility doesn't "appreciate" the art I have, some of the patients love it. My tattoos are a conversation piece and ease some of their tension. My kids love them too, but now they don't point them out. I often forget I have them and when people mention them I say "Oh yea" They are a part of me as yours should be of you. Just be sure that you go some place that is clean and will show you their cleaning procedures and logs.

I am a Christian woman also, and I think that it is okay for you to get a tattoo if you want one. If I was inclined to have a tattoo, I would be sure to choose one that doesn't go against the things I believe in. Another thing I would consider is whether my spouse is okay with me having one. Also I'd do some soul searching before I got it and be sure this is an image I really want to have on my body, because it is costly to remove it if I change my mind.

I'm a christian, too, and I don't believe there's anything wrong with getting a tattoo...as long as it isn't some huge satanic thing on your forehead. Many Christians have tattoos, they just don't show them off in church. ;-)
