Where to get free iPod Music?

I've just spent about £10 on 10 songs for my i-pod, and I definitely can't keep up with those costs!
(I'm hoping to build up to hundreds of songs, hehe)
Anyway, browsing on the internet and following links hasn't helped find any sites that find good MAINSTREAM music for free.
Any tips? Sites?
Or for limewire... how does that work?
(ps. limewire IS a legal program.. it's what you do with it that may not be legal ^^ )

Its so expensive to keep buying the music that you need. Now im not too sure how an i pod works but i take most of my music from you tube and save it if i want to on my pc,so there maybe a way that you could transfer it to your i pod...You tube has absloutely every kind of music that you can think of,plus its legal and free.

I know there is software programs that you can find so you can download music and video from youtube. I missed a free download opportunity. So now I am hunting for another one.

I really don't have an idea but we have itunes installed on our laptop so we can download music from it. Do you have itunes? I don't know if you can use limewire with your IPOD touch.
