Who are you?

Orright you lot!
While I'm in a philosophical mood, here's a little something to meditate on.
In 1,000 years time, after most of us are just dust and ashes (and maybe a few bone fragments here and there), if some wannabe archeologist dug up your memoirs (as recorded by future incarnations of myLot International on the Interplanetary Kiddies Forum) and published them for the world to be seen, what kind of person would you be regarded as by the wider community?
Our interpersonal and writing personas reveal different aspects of our characters, more so when the writing is done anonymously or sight unseen. What we express in our writing might disclose more of our inner substance and color than we are willing or able to express in our normal day-to-day activities with other people.
I'm of the view that we're all plugged into the world from another realm, and we mostly do the best we can to get by in this maelstrom of challenges and conflicts. But the world is a living entity in it's own right (and it's a temperamental SOB too), and its treatment of us and our reactions to it rarely do justice to our real inner value or potentials.
Though we CAN get a better idea of what lies within by the thoughts that people translate to the written form - mainly because that's not filtered so much by our perceptions of what other people expect of us, unlike our personal interactions with other people in our daily lives.
What we see of other people is largely the product of what the world's been trying to do to them. But what we READ from the pen of others can show a different side.
So what's your story? How WOULD you be regarded if we had nothing to go on at all besides what you'd managed to write in forums like myLot (and maybe in that secret diary that you'd kept in your younger days but misplaced years ago)?

Oh, geez! Well, I can tell you that in ten years on the same internet guitar forum, the guys all think that I'm a sweet, wise, optimistic, beautiful woman who is a near-perfect mother and a sparkling conversationalist with an infectious sense of humor.
Naturally, I put my best face on when I post on the internet! But it really is all me, without my temper tantrums, under-the-breath insults that nobody hears in real life anyway (I make sure!) and teeth-picking.
I guess the world would probably think of me like my guys do. Even those that have met me and can see I'm just an ordinary, dumpy, 54yr old grey-haired lady still seem to think of me that way.

Hi dragon54u,
Woohoo! I like the sound of that.
I'll be your toy-boy any time!
Speaking of time, we seem to change as time goes on, but it's always the same person inside there somewhere. It's funny how squeezing our thoughts through an Internet pipe can strip away so much of our outer veneer and reveal the intangible self within.

I am what I write. That is simply it. You will know apart of me, through how I write. When write i take into considerations my values, the things I believe, the things I was brought up with, my stand, my thinking, my way of life, and even how I deal with life. My discussions even in mylot, is basically the things I am brought up with, the way I perceive things and life, and is with pure honesty.

Hi adoremay,
I guess you're saying what we see here is the real you. That's probably unusual - I'd expect that a lot of people would present a different picture of themselves here on the myLot forums compared to what their family, friends and associates might see face-to-face.
It reminds me a little of Batman and Robin, who were always successful in their battles with the villains, because their hearts were pure.
You must be a quite well-adjusted person to be so confident and honest.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts here. I'm glad to see just a little piece of what makes you who you are.

Who am I? That's a difficult question. I think most humans spend their entire lives trying to answer it in a way they find effective. In a thousand years, if you read my epitaph, I hope it says something like, "She helped change the world". It would also be nice to have on that epitaph 'Married and mother of three children' (At least!)(Adopted - There are enough children that don't have parents). One can dream, can't they?

Hi cripfemme,
Yes, one CAN dream. Not too many people seem to translate their dreams to reality - I hope you do!
Just quietly aside, your phrase "Married and mother of three children" reminds me of that hilarious "Married with Children" sitcom. We sometimes still get it on free-to-air TV here, mostly in some ungodly time-slot after midnight. My favorite character (aside from Al Bundy, and Peg and Kelly and Ed) was the neighbor's wife, who Al often greeted with "Hello little boy, are you lost?". She had SUCH gorgeous eyes!

If it was based solely by what I write online, then I would probably be regarded as an annoying, prideful, "little girl" (I hate when people say that urghhh) who always had to get her opinion in (and be right!) but really I am a soft-spoken, caring, COMPASSIONATE person who's easy going and goes with the flow... Anyone in "real" life knows I am a bit of a hippie at heart who just loves and wants to save the animals!!!
Actually, I'm not sure if I answered this discussion right at all.

Hi wooitsmolly,
You do seem to have an assertive streak there somewhere.
Just by the by, have you ever seen any of the Aunty Jack series (an old Australian TV comedy form a couple of decades back)? She was a true lady, but certainly asserted her opinion when it suited her.
If I had to translate my perception of your myLot persona into a single image, it would be one of the Power Puff girls. Not sure which one, though.
Yay to you for standing up for the animals! Bugger Hillary Clinton - I bags the woomeister for president!

For me I'll let them just tell me my story, because I don't really want to brag about who I am or was. So lets give the new people a chance, who knows maybe they know more about me than myself.
Anyway its a cool post :).

Hi prettiemammie,
It sounds to me like you're a humble person, or at least not so concerned about what other people might or might not think of you.
IMO that's the hallmark of someone who gets things done - in the sense of living our intentions.
One of my own soap-boxes is the need for people to recognize our herding nature if we want to circumvent the status quo. 90% of herding behavior is tied up with worrying about what other people are thinking - so immunizing ourselves from that syndrome goes a long way to getting where we want to be.
I reckon your story might be a thread in the tapestry of our times. I hope so, anyway - it would be so nice to look back in a thousand years' time and see a world on the improve.
