Today I had on a tshirt, with capri jeans, and socks. I was getting ready to leave so I slipped on my sons sandals. My husband said "you're not going like that" I didn't think there was anything wrong with it, but I took them off and slipped on my tennis shoes. Does anyone out there wear socks and sandals???

I do. But I'm really lazy about my appearance.

Ummm...that's standard here in the Pacific NW! It rains so much, so who wants wet toes?

I didn't mean it as an insult. I hope you didn't take it that way.

Well wear I live in UK if I went out with capri jeans and socks and sandals on then I would be laughed at. It is just not a look where I am from. I would have worn the sandals, but took the socks off.
I never wear socks with sandals at all, I think perhaps if I was wearing long jeans and it was not really noticable under them that I had socks on with sandals then maybe I would but not sure.

I think socks and sandals are cute depend on what socks you pick. That socks on the picture you post is too long. short socks same color with the sandals would be nice with some lace or ornaments picture.

I do only around the house...I wouldn't go out that way...lol. I'll wear them if its a little chilly, instead of going around just wearing sandals, and letting my feet get cold, in the house that is...lol.

It's not one of my favorite looks. What really makes me crazy is when I see a man with darks socks, be them black or brown with sandals.

I probably would of said something to....lol My husband tried it once. To me unless you are a kid with those frilly socks at easter time then don't wear socks with sandals. Sandals = barefeet, socks tennis shoes or closed in shoes. Now sandals and nylons are okay.

Actually I have seen alot of girls at the mall recently wearing socks with sandals. I have to admit I thought it was a bit strange, but whatever you feel is comfortable. Personally I hate anything between my toes. It always rubs and leaves a sore, so if socks prevent that from happening I'm all for it.

I'm also from the UK, and I have to admit it's true that this look is laughed at here, and it's usually associated with older men with no fashion-sense. (In fact the rather mocking stereotypical image of a British man at the sea-side used to include socks and sandals together with a knotted handkerchief on the head - along with other beach attire of course :)
This is, of course a bit of a cruel view, and one I don't necessarily agree with - so I don't mean to cause offence to anyone!! And I don't know where it came from, or why this look is not acceptable here while it seems to be in other countries.
I've been quietly rebelling against it recently by occasionally wearing my black walking sandals with brown socks - although I wore them with long trousers so I'm not sure that anyone actually noticed, :)

Personally I don't like the look of socks with sandals, but in some places it is very stylish. I guess it depends on where you live. I've noticed that here in West Texas the only people I see do that are people from the Great Lakes region and people from the Pacific N W. We have a lot of people here that come from different regions.
