so far i have not seen any discussions about this manga....i was surprised!
what i want to discuss is the ending...so beware of spoilers (i won't give them but other mylotters might!).
what is anyone's opinion of the ending? i found it completely disappointing and not even really sure what happened.
i heard this manga was ultra-violent but til the last few pages i was still waiting for SOMETHING...anything! it was pretty much all psychological warfare with a bit of fist fighting, gun-toting and a LITTLE blood.
big deal.
i SO much more appreciated the film 'remake', which now i see is not so much a remake but something amazing that was created by the korean film director.
any thoughts? anybody LIKE the ending? if so...please share!

I haven't read the manga of this (as I haven't found any sources) but I have watched the film based on it (same title, directed by Park Chan-wook) and it was amazing. That word doesn't really do it justice but, yes. If the manga is as good as the movie, I'm pretty sure I'll love it equally.

well that's just the problem. i think the film was incredible...but the manga is just a disappointment :(
the drawings are excellent and different than what we usually see in mainstream mangas..the characters are really stylized, and there is a lot of detail .... but story-wise...i just found it fell flat in the last volume :( it's almost like the author didn't know how to end the story, so he made something up quickly that didn't tie up any of the loose ends :(

I feel now that i must see this movie Old Boy. I haven't heard of it before, and im not a fan of violent action, but your discussion intrigued me.
I always prefer reaing mangas to seeing anime; but since you say the manga is disappointing, seeing anime may be better.
thanks for the suggestion.
Happy mylotting.
