Do you live in a state that gets hurricanes? I live in florida and we egt a lot. our hurricane season starts June 1st thru Nov 30th. We always make sure we have plenty of water and flashlight batteries and candles. We also bought a generator. We start buying things in May cause if you wait till a hurricane is looming evryone goes to the store and buys out all the stuff. Do you prepare ahead of time or do you wait till you know a hurricane is coming?

I just moved to Florida 9 months ago. I haven't been in a hurricane yet.

Thanks for the tip. People have told me that the power goes out for days, how do you handle the boredom?

I lived on the Mississippi Gulf Coast when I was in high school. We would do a good bit of preparing ahead of time. It was a real community effort during hurricane season. Everyone was prepared to help anyone else in a time of need. I loved the atmosphere during hurricane season.... that sounds strange doesn't it.
