I've got freckles on my face since I was a little girl.Fortunately for me,they don't turn any darker or get more.Freckles are kind of a skin disease. They say freckles like girls with fair skins. So girls with fair skins are a lot more easier getting freckles than girls with darker skin. And generally men don't get that much freckles as women .
It says cells in the human skin produce a substance called melanin. When sunlight hits the skin, more melanin is produced. Melanin darkens the skin and is the cause of suntan. Most people tan evenly all over the body, but some people tan just in spots. These little islands of suntan are the cause of freckles.
Do you agree with this statement?Do you mind if somebody call you freckles?

I actually have a bunch of freckles around my nose. You can barely notice them unless you are looking really closely. One of my cousin used to call me pizza face because of all the freckles. I don't really know why it happens but your explanation seems like it could be correct.

I don't know if I would call freckles a skin disease. I have some freckles on my cheeks and nose. They are very light, though. I hardly notice them most of the time. I don't really go out in the sun much, but if I were to get out in the sun my freckles would get a little bit darker.

I have had freckles on my face since I was a little girl. i mainly have them on my nose area. You used to be able to see them alot better when I was younger. Now that I have grown older, they have kind of fade daway. You can barely see them now. I have a few on my arms but not many of them. I think some freckles are sun spots but not all of them because I have had some for years without staying in the sunlight.

Yes I have freckles, they come out in summer and go away for the winter, the trouble is that as I get older, they seem to get bigger each year that they come out. I now use a tinted moisturiser everyday to stop them coming out at all.
I have a 6 year old boy who has strawberry blonde hair, and he started off with a smattering of freckles right across the bridge of his nose and across his cheeks. They make him look so cute, but very very cheeky. He hates them. I noticed though that in the last week they have come out even more, we have been having good weather which is the cause. So now he has loads more, I am thinking of getting him some face suntan cream so that I can see if I can stop his too.
His skin is very much like mine and so I need to start protecting his skin now the summer is coming as I do not want his skin ruined like mine.

I have lots of freckles & always have had...they get darker if I spend time in the sun, but fade again over winter. I don't believe they are any kind of skin disease at all as I regularly get moles checked by my doctor. They are actually hereditary as my father has them too - he is red haired and fair skinned with freckles, I am brunette with fair skin and freckles. I use a lot of sunscreen all the time and try my hardest not to get burnt. I love my freckles!

Are you sure its actually a disease? I dont think that's what I'd call them. You contract diseases, you are born with freckles... and whether they may affect your skin in terms of UV/sunlight I dont think that constitutes a disease. Moles are much more of a risk, as they can become cancerous. I have freckles on my face, but only in the summer. If I dont wear make up you can see them, which my boyfriend likes. Though generally you can't tell because I dont like not to wear make up. It's odd because they're quite pale and create a pathway over my nose lol. And btw I'm not fair skinned... and tan v easily
