I signed up for a daily session of emails called Yoga for every body. It is great they send you links to their blog and excerpts from their show "Yoga for every body." Everyday they show you a new position or exercise. I really enjoy it! It is one of the first things that I do with my day every day. It's so convenient because it is just sitting there in my mailbox, just waiting for me every morning when I get up. If you have an interest in yoga and you really want o give it a try I would recommend it to everybody! http://www.practicalyoga.tv

I have been practicing yoga off and on for years. I have not yet succeeded in getting into the habit of doing it everyday, so therefore I am usually in the place of 'starting over'. Man that is getting tiresome! But what I have gained from all those years is that I know how to do all of the basic poses, and a quite a few more actually, and so it is just a matter of propelling my a$$ up off the chair and onto the floor! How can that be so friggin hard???? I just don't understand it! I started using a timer while I was at the computer which I set for an hour, then I would get up and alternate the time spent sitting with a few minutes of activity, like the tramp or yoga or washing some dishes, whatever, but it wasn't too long before I said to myself I says: "I don't need to set the timer, I know what I want to do!" But sure enough, the minute I stopped using the timer I stopped getting up out of my chair... gawd, I can be sooooo lazy!!! That timer is going right back into use tomorrow! PS: I checked out that website, but I am in love with yogajournal.com... they are phenomenally well organized and chock full of information, including precise and clear step by step instructions for hundreds of poses, with not only their western name, but their Sanskrit name and how to pronounce it!

I think that most people give way to inertia and entropy. I tend to do the same thing when I devise a workout plan. What I started doing though was playing video games online and every time that I lose or I just get bored with the games I will sit out the next game and do exercises until another game starts, then randomly I just throw like a 15 minute set in there. It really helps. It also get's me to cut down to a more realistic amount of time playing video games.

Doesn't that ever get boring, just practicing the same movements and positions over and over again?

And it is usually low impact so it causes little stress on the body while yielding these benefits.

I used to go to the gym and a studio to practice yoga. Now, I live in a different country and I have no idea how I can practice again. It's quite expensive and time consuming to go to another city to attend classes. Good thing you mentioned this, I guess I can try some poses so I can still practice a bit.

If you require a group format to motivate you then I can see your problem. However you do have a connection to the internet and there are several websites and ezines that will send you a workout each day to your inbox. You can play them right on your computer. So if it is something that you enjoy and that you wish to get back into then there is no reason why you cannot except you.

I will have to check it out. I do yoga in the afternoon when the Namaste Yoga show is on tv. If i miss it or am busy at that time I tend to miss it and not get my work out, although I am getting better at remembering the moves and stuff so I could do it without the show, but it's helpful. I am working on something to take with me when I go out of town in a few weeks.

you can download yoga workouts and positions to your Ipod from the Ipod site or from YouTube or some other video site, if you have an Ipod or you can burn them to DVD if you have a portable DVD player.

I haven't personally tried it. But my mom has and seeing her do it makes feel like trying.

It certainly looks interesting when you are watching someone do it and the effect that it has on people's equilibrium. The serinity that they acheive in this non strenuous non impact workout is clearly visible to an observer.

It certainly is. I enjoyed watching my mom do it. During the time she spent doing it, she really relaxed and such.

That is a good site. I used to receive dailies from them and enjoyed them for a while but then found I was deleting the messages more than using them so I unscribed. I have recently gotten back into yoga and I am glad you reminded me of this site. Thanks.
