Well,I am not an expert in this.
But,I will tell you what I had known.
#To increase or maximize your battery life, you must fully discharge your battery at least once a month to have a longer battery life.
#And you should not expose it to either cold or heat. Its always better to have it in normal room temperature.
Cheers! Have a great day
Happy mylotting and happy earnings.

In order to maximize the life of the batteries of your laptop you should condition your battery first. In conditioning you should first full charge your battery then unplug the AC Adapter and then use the the laptop thereby fully depleting the battery (the low battery warning appears. After that fully charge it again and deplete the battery again, do this for three times. Conditioning the battery makes sure that it will charge properly and fully.
Secondly don't use the battery that often. As a laptop battery is rated for a number of recharging(about 300), so use the AC power as much as possible and reserve the batteries when there is no AC power available.
Occasionally recharge the battery if it hasn't been used for a long time. Also if you plan to store the laptop for 2 weeks or more remove the batteries.

hhhmmm... i don't think you can help it cause the life span of standard laptop battery is really short. Perhaps you should get a longer life span battery? Like higher cells power?

first of all reduce the brightness of your screen, if your laptop is new then the function keys will give you the option of reducing it on the keyboard it self. Don't leave your battery to charge until you get to the very least of the battery power as soon as you get the chance recharge it. Also try to remove the AC cord soon after the laptop is charged (if you are not using it).
If you want to really save battery, use a background which is dark since white and light coloured pixels take a bit more power.
Have good ventilation for the laptop especially in the region where the cooling fan is, since more heat produced means more power used.
Overall, it depends on what type of user you are, if you use your processor to the maximum level then more power is going to be used.
Hope this helps to save your battery life!
