A year ago there was talks of boycotting the gas stations for one day. I believe it is time to send a message to the oil companies by boycotting the gas stations for two days instead of one day. The time we need to speak the loudest is now and so how about we plan a date on doing this in the near future? What are your thoughts?

As with any boycott, it would have to be done by all to have effect. Unfortunately, too many Americans depend on gas, won't participate, or just don't care. I remember back in the 80s, when there were car-free Sundays where people weren't supposed to use their cars until absolute necessary. While there was less traffic, it wasn't really significant. Let's face it, here in America most still worship the car;)
Furthermore, if you delay purchase for one day, they get their business the next day. Even if it would make a difference for big oil, it would only be a very very minor hick-up.

I see. So once again, another person who believes we are the mercy of the oil companies who are laughing all the way to the bank with their share holders. I hope that when gas is $5/gallon you feel the same way because that is going to happen by the way things are going. Oil company CEO's main job is to please the share holders. They do not care about the little guy one bit who is trying to make an honest living.

Where on earth do you see that in my comment? Let me rephrase it, A SIMPLE BOYCOTT WON'T WORK! We would merely delay our usage. The errant you don't run during the boycott has to be done eventually doesn't it? That however doesn't mean we are at the mercy of the oil companies. But alternatives are costly. Are you willing to use alternative fuel cars like those driven by solar and wind energy? They are available, just costly. If we all invest in those and drive in those, then big oil will be taught a lesson. You are not at the mercy of the oil companies. But a boycott of even a week WILL NOT teach them a lesson!

The gas has already been paid for by the gas station. The gas station would be taking a loss IF they lowered their prices. Also one day would not do anything because they know that people need gasoline.

Interesting. So we are definitely under control of the oil companies. So either find a way to use renewable energy or suck it up right? I never thought we would have both the government and oil companies controlling our lives. Sad to think it's come to that indeed.

Boycotting oil for one or two days does nothing to the price of oil because it is not a true supply and demand item. If you want to relieve your fuel costs, find ways to get around that do not use fuel.

So like I said above, find a way to use renewable energy or suck it up. Either way, we are being controlled by the government and oil companies. I am afraid things are only going to worse before they get better by the sounds of it while the oil companies and government profits off of our expense.
