Being Appreciative For A Friend Helping You.

I just had a good friend help me w/ a major project that I am so happy he helped me with. I had gotten a new head/foot board and the frame for my bed and was in need of help tearing the old one apart and getting it out of the room and puting the new one together in the room I asked him if he would help me do this and he said "sure". I never thought it would be as much work as it was takeing everything out of the room just to get the new one set up. I then said to him I want to rearrange my room and make it different looking he helped me move all the furniture around. We took a break and then he helped me vac and get the apartment back in order. I was so appreciative I told him I would do something nice for him in return but he said "don't worry about it". I'd feel bad if I didn't for he did a huge favor for me by helping me do all that moveing and getting things back in order. Have you had a friend help you out and you wanted to return the favor? Did the person helping you out accept or decline the favor in return? I will do something for my friend for it's the right thing to do he just don't know it yet.

I am much like your friend, when I help someone I refuse to accept an offer of gratitude in return. I have always live with the thought that I will help you today, because I may need your help tomorrow. I do offer to those that help me an offer of gratitude though.

Yes I agree I know he will need my help sometime and I'd be there for him. He has done alot for me and every time I say "I'll pay you back in return his answer is no" That's just him. This week on my days off I came up w/ an idea to make him a nice dinner when he comes over for he is Wednesday night. Thanks for your response.
