Hoahmmm... feel sleepy and tired to listen always the case that happened to me during orientation and lecture time. I wanna listen those information, but usually the speakers are boring, some are nice at the first few minutes, but after 1-2 hours, i easily feel tired to listen to them. If you;re in my shoes, what probably you do? I just wanna improve my ability to listen... even the most boring topic with boring speaker...

what i do when i am so bored is i get out of the room for about a minute and try to breathe deeply outside and stretch my arms and legs. after that, i will go back to the room a bit refreshed and ready to listen again to the boring speaker, somehow my stretching alleviates my being so bored. if i can't get out of the room, i will just write random notes in my notebook just to keep my muscles and my mind working and hopefully eliminate my indifference with the topic or with the speaker.

first of all, in those kind situation, i think you should keep in your mind that the speech is interesting to follow on. you should able to make this suggestion into your braimn and refuse to admit that the speech is so much boring when you admit that the speech is so much boring so in the rest you would not take any concern to listen those kind speech. i know its hard and need to practice but its not impossible to do

I just record the entire lecture by my digital recorder. If I miss anything, I can go back to it anytime. Then, I would look perfectly listening even though I feel drowsy. What I'm only careful about is the chance of getting called to recite or to answer a question in the middle of the lecture. If I look blank, it's going to be tough. I wouldn't want that.
