How do you think of this job hunting case?

Hello people, one of my friends recently wants to change her job. So she has sent her CV to a few of companies and got a reply and interview from a big company. But after the interview, she hasn’t heard from it anymore. She called the secretary of the Human Resource and was told to wait due to the manager was away on the business trip. Yesterday, she sent an email to see what it was going on and was told the manager would contact her soon. I advise my friend to give some time to the said company to consider, but my friend doesn’t want to lose the chance and waste the time to wait. Will you repeatedly calling the company for the result? Please feel free to share your view.

I don't be doing that. I think if the company are very much interested in hiring you, they will not let you go and probably will say it to you right there after the interview. Some companies always do this thing. They say they will just call you or wait for their confirmation but these would never come. I just don't know the reason why they doing this and just could not say it right away whether you are hired or not.

Well said! The company will offer the job straight away if they set their eyes on the candidate. It is no point to give hope and wait for the news…

Not repeatedly. If after several calls I still haven't heard from them then I'll move onto the next one and send in an application to another company and go on from there.

Thanks for your response. In this case, it is wise to move on…I am pleased we have the same thought.

well you dont want to keep bugging them because if you do, they wont hire you! my hubby had the same issue, he even had a second interview and was told pretty much the same thing as your friend - its really a delay tactic because they hired another person (even after the second interview with hubby!)

Hello there, many thanks for sharing your view. I think I will tell my friend forget that job or just wait for the result rather than bombarding the company. But I just don’t understand why the company won’t tell the true that they have employed someone else.
