Ok My hubby will be home soon. My daughter was hungry so we have already eaten. I had this can of tuna and this is how I fixed it. I discovered we were out of bread. So I took a little miracle Whip mixed it in with the tuna. Took a sprinkling of cheddar cheese shreds and mixed that in as well. I put it on top of a bed of baby spinach leaves. And then I garnished it with Blue Corn chips. Hey! we were out of bread so no tuna melt. What do you think?

Sounds pretty good to me.
I remembered I had lettuce in the fridge that needed to be used up, so I made a tuna sandwich today, toasted, and put lettuce on it. That's my favorite!
(The cat like it too - I shared by marinating her food with the juice).

That is exactly what I do with the juice and my cat loves it. If she has already eaten I will sometimes just go ahead and give her the juice. Makes her one happy cat.

I might be tempted to make a cream sauce using some chicken broth or bouillon for extra flavor and then mixing in the tuna, and either frozen peas and carrots or a can of peas and carrots drained. Then serve it either over biscuits or rice or mix it with cooked egg noodles. In fact, that sounds good enough, I might do that before the weekend's over. Another idea would be to do make the sauce mixture and put it in a pie shell with a top crust (depends on if you had any on hand). I'll bet if you used tuna in water, it would come out and even taste a lot like a chicken pie.

I'm sorry - I didn't actually answer your question. I'm not a fan of cheese on tuna except in a tuna hoagie (aka sub). I tried it once and didn't like it a bit, but it did sound otherwise good and healthy. If you were to make something else instead, the spinach could be the salad with it.

ersmommy1 that sounds delicious tuna and cheese to start
with sound really good and healthy with the spinach and
flavorful with the blue corn chips. I just may try
this one myself.I love cheese with just about anything
and tuna is super good for us too. wish I had a can of
tuna. If i did I would use some of the steamed brown
rice I had left over from yesteday along with some cheese
and hidden valley ranch and slice a tomato in that add the tuna
and put this ontop of red leaf lettuce.

I remember a recipe for some sort of tuna baked thing. Tuna salad on french bread with cheese on top toasted in the oven. I thought that was fine at the time.

When I fix tuna, I empty my tuna into a bowl and add some chopped dill pickles to it. I then add me some chopped onion to and sometimes I add some chopped boiled egg to it also. that is what my husband likes. I also add a little bit of Miracle Whip to it also and stir it all up. I have never tried the corn chips but that sounds delicious. I will also have to try the cheddar cheese too.

Sounds interesting. The other day I was having trouble deciding between a tuna salad and a tuna salad sandwich. I ended up mixing up the tuna with ranch dressing, lettuce, salt and pepper and putting it between 2 slices of Roman Meal bread. It was yummy!

I drain the water off it and just add salt and pepper to it...sometimes I add a little mayo though.

Sounds good!
I have made tuna patties - take a can of tuna, add dozen or so crushed saltins, a tablespoon of instant minced onion and an egg. Mix together and drop by tablespoons in a hot skillet. Flatten out to be a pattie. Cook until brown on both sides.

Hi ersmommy,
Well I usually buy the tuna with the oil in it.
I open the can and drain the oil off into a pot that is already heating on the stove.
I chop up onions, tomatoes and hot pepper and throw it into the oil to fry lightly.
Next I put in the tuna to fry up and put in some ketchup and salt. Stir it all up real good and that's it.
Lightly toast my burger buns and put it in there and have me a feast!
I love to make my tuna like that

That's different, but it sounds pretty good. When I don't have bread and want tuna I get miracle whip and shredded cheese and mix it up and eat it like that. Sometimes if I have an egg then boil it and cut it up and put it in there too.

hey doesnt sound too bad, if you want another way to fix tuna heres a good way to make it
1 Can tuna
1 Equal
Mayo (to taste)
Pepper (to taste)
Mix that all up and put it in the refrigerator. Then toast 2 slices of bread, once those pieces come out butter them with margarine or butter, immediatley fix with the tuna.
This tastes SOOOOO good :) trust me.. i know it sounds funny adding Equal.. but its been a secret ingredient for a while in my mother in laws recipe soo thought Id share it.. shhhh dont tell :)
