Do you sometimes dislike the song because many people like it?

Usually I find that a new song will come out from a popular artist, Britney Spears, Fergie, whatever right and I will HATE IT! just because of who it is singing it.. then I usually end up liking it and listening to it when no one is watching lol

Well, I have never got this type of feelings which you have asked for . I feel good when ever I see some one to listening same song , which I use to listen . So many song comes in my mind when ever I think of it ... What do you think about "Nothing else matter" (Mettalica) In this early morning ? Thanks !!!

hmmm I think this way about movies, I think when you hear so many people saying great things about a song or a movies you have great expectations with it then when you hear the song or see the movie you get a little let down. Personally I mainly stick to music of my independent friends so I guess unfortunately don't get a lot of people listening to them....

It really doesn't bother me when other people like the songs. What bothers me is when I hear the same song over and over on the radio and on television. Then it gets old really fast. Usually what happens is a song will come out, a lot of people will like it and I will hear it a lot, since I hear it so much I start to like it, and then a few days later I can't stand to hear it anymore!!

yeah girl...you are right...There are a lot of songs which I hate just because a lot of ppl like it... also sometimes it happens that I like the song initially, later on when it becomes too much popular i start disliking it...!!!

I do that quite a bit. It's not always with songs, though. If a lot of people like a book or a tv show or a movie, or even an actor sometimes I'll boycott them in my mind, and I will be bound and determined not to like their work, regardless of what it sounds like/is about/how good it is. It's a bit stubborn of me, but since it's not really deliberate, I'm not going to complain about it too much. Besides, I'm sure it must be okay, you and a few other people on Mylot do it too. It can't be that bad, right? (haha. Kidding, kidding. I don't need others to validate my actions, but it can't hurt to help convince you that I'm not crazy. hehe)

I thought it was just me who felt like this. The more people like a song the more it does feel unimportant or drawn out. The song that comes to mind is the song 'Iris' by the Goo Goo Dolls. Everybody knows that song. I used to like it because it spoke to me. And I still like it, but I rarely listen to it. Anything that is overplayed on TV or the radio gets old really quickly.

i do have some songs that i really hate but i just don't know what's the title of that song. it makes me sick whenever i hear those kind of songs.
