This is a very interesting topic! I'm going to jot down the names listed in this thread and see if I can list some of my unsold ebay stuff. I have 3 boxes of thigns accumulated that I've tried on ebay 2 rounds-- and no hits. It would be way worth it if it sold elsewhere without fees.
Oh, and as another alternitive-- I use craigs list. The turn around time is typically slow-- but if you have time to kill you might get some hits. I have stuff that sits out there for weeks at at time, but eventually it sells. I've shipped stuff to a few people too on Craigs--- and made them pay me via paypal. I like doing that as well.

I use eBid as an alternative, and over the last few months it seems to have got a lot busier, more members and more items for sale. It is possible to list without fees (if you want to just test the water) but there are fees for various extras. Worth a try in my opinion.

The only other alternative I can think of is ebid but I still prefer using eBay. The fees are higher but I get results.

You might try bluejay.com I hear its totally free to have your store there, I just haven't checked it out.
Auction wise I use mompackauctions which is also free, but I find their site is a little whack...things that sell don't show as sold and stay on your list. Things that you put to auto repost sometimes do and sometimes don't. I was using it to list items that didn't sell on ebay but weren't homeschool related.
Homeschool or homesteading related I use homeschoolbuy.com It's totally free of fees as long as the item is homeschool or homestead related.

Yah. I also have a store on ebay that sells pearls jewelry primarily but the fee is sometimes unrealistic. Anyway this is a good discussions for alternatives.
