Has anyone ever been disowned by your parents?

Yes, not me but my s.i.l. It was sort of mutual though because she was the one who said she knew she would never see any of us ever again. She hasn't attempted to contact any of us and we hear about her from other people sometimes but really we don't know anything that's going on in her life and it's been six months since the last time any of us talked to her. For me personally it's been 8 months and honestly, while I wonder how she is and hope all is well I don't mind it because she was so cruel to myself and my husband in the first place. I just know it hurts her parents and that is what stinks.

Like you, I have heard of this but could not imagine it. I have never seen it happen though and hope that I don't anytime soon.
