I am going next weekend to look at what could be my very first home! I am so excited I don't know what to do with myself. It has a full bath in the master bedroom!!!
Do you own your own home? When you first walked in the door, did you know that house was your dream home?

Woo Hoo!!!!
There's nothing like owning your own home momma. As a matter of fact, when we bought this house, my Leslie didn't want to look at it. But.....
It was a deal we couldn't refuse for one thing. When he walked inside and saw how big it was on first glance, he was amazed. Had it now since 1993. All bought and paid for. Mine - Mine - Mine......
I can do anything I want - anytime I want - or I can do nothing at all........
Sooooooooooooooooo nice.....
You will be sooooo happy to have your own home. It's like having 'roots'......

I am pretty sure you know that we bought a house back in December. Nothing compares to the feeling of owning your own home. Hubby was cutting the grass today nd we both sat down on a bench under our pine trees and talked about just that !! I am so excited for you !!

congrats on looking at what may be your very first home. How did it go? Did you like it? Was the layout what you wanted?
Unfortunately I don't own my own home yet. I think that it's going to take time. LOL!! I also am waiting for it to be more of a buyers marker than the sellers market even thought right now does seem to be it. LOL!!!

Congratulations on your first home to be. August 1st, will be 3 years since we moved in our home. We told our realtor what we wanted, what we could afford, and I looked myself online. Our house was being built, so we took a chance on a picture of a house that changed a lot.
First time we actually saw our home, it was mainly a shell of a home, . Actually closing on the home, wasn't as exciting, it's finally getting all your stuff inside, and put in place, you finally get to relax and with aww, your like this is mine. After moving all the time and living in military housing and apartments. The feeling of putting a certain item in place and knowing you won't have to box it up again, is such a great feeling.
Again congrats on the house hunt, it can be tiring and exciting all at the same time. Keep looking around so you can compare your choices. Keep a notepad, to take notes of what you liked and disliked about each. Also, ask about your back yard, what is part of the property. Our's was stated it would have a small yard, maybe 1/2 an acre. Well, it takes us about 3 hours almost to mow our so called 1/2 acre, . Also try to get one with a fence already in place, that will save you trouble. Especially if you have a dog or ever decide to get one. Landscaping is a huge plus, save you time from having to buy flowers and trees.
Also your daughter should love it as well, how is the neighborhood, schools, things you already know.
Keep us all updated on how things go.

That is great. We own our first home now also and I was very excited to move into it also. We have our own garden tub in our mater bedroom and bathroom area also and a walk in shower. We have lived here for ten years now and we still love our home. We knew we wanted this home back then but we are so ready to move from this county we live in. It is just awful because we hate to leave our home because of it.

Your house sounds really nice, I think that if, rather when I move again I would love to have en suite with a shower or bath in the master bedroom. How cool is that!!
Yes we own our own home, it is our first owned home together. I remember when I first came to see it, I did not really want too, as I had seen it in the estate agents and did not like the look of it, they only had a picture of it from the front and it looked tiny and little.
But the estate agent phoned me about it and she said it had 4 bedrooms, and the price of it was really good, so I said "OK, we will go and look at it". We knocked on the door and I remember walking through and my jaw hit the floor, it was huge inside, and the garden was massive, I fell in love with it on sight. Needless to say we put an offer in straight away!! It is like doctor who's tardis, it is lovely.

A very exciting time for you,a first home is fabulous!..I love my tiny little home, its very small..just a small lounge a kitchen..and two bedrooms..but its so lovely and cosy, its filled with all the bits and pieces that ive collected over the years..some would say that its a bit full up!especially as the minimal look is in fashion. But I prefer cosy and cluttered, though not when it comes to dusting!!
Whenever ive been away I open the door, look in..and thank God..its just sooo lovely to be back..good luck with your new home x

I don't own a house, I still live with my parents at the age of 17. I will probably be moving out into student accommodation while I am at Uni in a couple of years. I hope that you find a nice house that you want to spend the next few years in at a decent price.

About 5 months ago I rented a trailor. And when I walked into the place I thought excally that I have to have this place, even if I'll never own it I'll rent for the rest of my life lol. It was beautiful and huge for the price. Both my kids had there own room, despite the problems that came with it, it was well worth the move. My mother in law as luck would have it, bought the place so that me and my kids would never go without. I recently moved to Florida, but Maine will always be home and I'll always have my trailor waiting for me!

Good luck! Make sure it is what you want. Just don't jump into anything. Weigh your options, it is a big step.

What fantastic news Momma. We've purchased two homes, nothing special, not the houses of our dreams perhaps, but when we close the door it is our door that we close. That is a lovely feeling. We found this one by accident. I came on my own to see a house further up the same road and didn't like it. As I was leaving I saw a for sale board outside this one. I got the details and came to see i the next day. My wife was working away at the time and took my word for it that this was it. We have lived here for 15 years now, so I guess that was one decision I got right!
