Hi! I dont have a child and I dont know any definite thing to make him stop. Im responding to this discussion because I did it myself too. As embarrassing as it is to admit, I still used a baby's bottle and nippy cup up until I was 5 years old. I stopped sometime in between there but I dont remember when. All I remember is that when I was about 3 or 4 I would fluctuate from using the bottle or not. I cna tell you the reason though. My Mom tells me that im too old or im not supposed to use bottles anymore but I really like it and so just to obey my Mom, I would stop but whenever I see/saw my little cousin who was about 1 year old at that time I really get envious that I resort back to using the bottle again. I dont use the bottle for milk mind you but different older kids drinks like orange juice or chocolate drink(Yum!) and Id always use them while im watching tv or during naptime.
What got me to stop is my Moms firm hand on my diet. I have been a fat and chubby kid since I was born up until that diet. She stopped me using the bottle when I was 5 and half, and made me drink from the glass which I really didnt like at that time (I can tell you that!) Then she cut back my food intake to normal proportions. But my diet is another story. Well, I guess you can let it slide just until the lil brother is old enough to not use the bottle too. or If you really want him to stop altogether be really strict. Otherwise ease him into it like giving a specific day on when he can use the bottle with his baby bro.
Thats my suggestion. Goodluck!^_^
