When I was in the hospital for my little vacation Molly and Maggie missed me so much. Molly wouldnt eat much. And now she follows me all over the house doesnt leave my side. When we pulled up in the car I saw her looking at me through the window. It was so cute. Im so glad to be home with my Molly and Maggie. Do you pets miss you whenever you go away for awhile? Meow!

Mum's cat Meg actually gets very put out when Mum's away she is a right madam and she sulks! For the first day Meg won't even acknowledge mum as though she is punishing her for leaving her for so long, she has to have her little tantrum, how dare my mum go away and leave her, how dare she, that is not acceptable, and Meg shows her feelings, but after a day Meg comes round and starts to love mum again! Just to say I forgive you for leaving me now you can love, stroke and fuss over me again, I will allow that, animals are funny aren't they, set in their ways, I bet Molly and Maggie were discussing you when you were away, relieved to have their mum back and relieved to be pampered and spoilt again no doubt!

My Shady cat hated being alone. I don't know how she was all day, but when I'd come home, I'd hear her in the partment mrowling (that deep throaty meow that's almost like a cat in heat). Over and over and over - then I'd call her name through the door before putting my key in and in an instant....the mrowl would change to a mrpp? Almost sounding like "mom??" She was so happy I was home and had to get in my lap as soon as I sat down for some reassurance. When I got another cat, she was very upset, but wasn't as anxious about being alone. She was still thrilled to see me, but wasn't mrowling at the door hoping it was me she heard in the hall. She now had company at home.
My daughter just got a new kitten - I'll post a picture in my profile - and she is learning about cat attachment, too. Tiki is so tiny, only a handful, but when Deb comes home and opens the bedroom door (where she stays while Deb is at work), she does a double-take that it's my daughter, leaps down from wherever she is and comes bounding over to her (Deb says, she looks like a dog running). Then she climbs up her legs and shirt until she gets to her shoulder and begins to lick her face.
It's great to feel that kind of unconditional love after being out in the "cruel, cruel world", isn't it??

Awwww! They love ya bunches. Buster is like a maniac when I am gone for a few hours. He is standing at the door waiting with his butt sashaying back and forth and his tail wagging 90 MPH. As soon as I get inside he stands on his hind legs with his front paws on my wasit beging to be talked to and loved up. he is such a baby.
HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Lifting uses a lot of the muscles in the neck actually so
don't try that. Buster is actually sleeping on the grass in
the shade in the back yard right now as it is really nice
for a change here in Minnesota.
HAPPY POSTINGS FRFOM GRANDPA BOB !!~

that's so sweet! i don't think my cats miss me as much as i miss them. i went away for a couple of days about 3 weeks ago and i couldn't wait to see them again! i envisioned this great reunion where they would run up to me and well-act like molly did, but it wasn't like that at all! instead, it was me going to them and wanting to hug and kiss! oh well..

funny you should say "furry babies"-the day before mother's day, i was at work, and someone passed by my office on the way out and said "happy mother's day" to the three of us who share the office. i said "well it's not happy mother's day to me, i don't have any kids"...(i paused) then said "wait-i have kids! they have fur!!!" lol...i'm going away tomorrow for the day, so we'll see what kind of reunion i have when i get home!

it's so sweet of them, but my cat doesnt seems to miss me when I am gone for a long time. I went to a vacation for 3 weeks and I missed her alot, but she look at me like a stranger. But I hoped that she would atleast come over to me or something...

when i leave, my cat does not usually let me know because i come back.
when i was out helping redo the yard and she saw me out of the house, she would not stop mewing at me so she could let me know that "hey, what are you doing here? I want you back here with me!"
then after that, she would not leave me alone.
i would be somewhere in the house, she would be sitting down on something, or coming to me wanting to get petted.
shes so spoiled.

I had a pet,a dog, just several months ago,I remember that everytime I returned my home for vacations it would no doubt sit against the door, waving its tail as a signal of welcoming me back, even though I had not been with it for a very long time, it was really cute and I extremely favor it.Sadly the good days would not last long, because my father sold it to others without even asking me for advice. It really took a long time for me to comfort myself for this matter, even now,I often miss it and am envious of those who keep a dog as their close friends.

Every time we leave the house (even for 2 minutes) our akita pup acts like we have been gone for ages and she missed us missed us missed us. She is goofy like that. She can't stand to be alone (although she has our 6 year old miniature weiner dog with her he is a grump and doesn't play with her).

Aaaaaw, isn't that so sweet that your furbabies missed you so much! I can imagine they're thrilled to have you home now.
When I was little, I had a cat who was my best friend in the whole world. We would occasionally go on vacation and have someone come in and watch her for us. When we'd come home, she wouldn't let me out of her sight for at least a couple hours. But. . . then she'd make a point to let me know how upset she was that I'd abandoned her and would switch to pout mode. She would go into my room and sit on the foot of my bed with her face buried in the blankets and ignore me. After a couple hours of that, she'd finally decide I'd been punished enough for being so mean to her and we'd be all buddy-buddy again. LOL

I certainly do! That is one of the plus points about retirement I do not have to travel. I used to sometimes have to be gone for 4 or 5 days with my job and had to hire a pet sitter. It got to the point that when I got my suitcase out to pack they would jump into it and pull my clothes out as they knew it meant my leaving them. Of when I got back it was a joyous reunion.

That is so cute seeing Molly looking at your from the window when you pulled up in the car! My dogs are like that - if one of us has to go away for whatever reason, they really miss us and show it by not eating, loafing around, not really interested in anything!
I had to take a trip last year to the UK to visit my sick mother, and was away for 4 weeks, and my husband said that the dogs were moping round the house every day, and he had to really coax them to eat their dinner every night.
But as soon as we are all together again, they are happy and back to their usual bouncing selves!

yes my cats definitely miss me whenever i go away for awhile. it doesn't even have to be for days. everyday around dinner time my girl will start to pace impatiently for my return. like yesterday, i went out with my friends and came back rather late. my dad kind of scolded me today coz my girl was pacing all over my home and refused to let them close the main door. she is upset that i'm not bad and want to stick by the main door to wait for me.
and today my boy was exceptionally affectionate. kept following me around my home asking for hugs. he just wanted to be carried around so that he is sure that i won't 'disappear' again. think they are the happiest cats in the world as long as they can see me. it's really warms my cockles to know that they love me so much. meow meow!

awwwwwwww..Seems you really had Molly worried and wondering what happened to you. I bet she was always in that window looking for you to come home. She's sticking to you like glue cause she's worried if she loses sight of you again, that you will 'disappear' on her again. Some animals are like that. Especially if they have a close bond with their owners and the owner leaves for awhile.

Generally, Scamp will accuse the roomie of killing me and hiding the body when I'm gone, but it seems that he doesn't trust the other roomie enough to even do that...
Rygel, on the other hand, was so glad to see us, he kept jumping into our arms.

That is so sweet! They didn't know what happened to their mommy, so now they don't want to take any chances that you will leave again. So cute!
My cat and dog are at the door when I get home. My dog wags her tail and jumps around and my cat follows me around everywhere. Animals are soooo cute.

Aww--that is so sweet that your little babies missed you and that Molly was looking at you from the window to see her mom come home. Well I haven't been anywhere in ages for any length of time for my kitties to miss me, but I bet they would should I be gone for awhile

Hi terry, My whoopie (dog) missed me when I've been very busy this past few days. Although we seen much here in the house I seldom greet her and hug her. Thats why she was the one who will approach me and follow me especially when I'm working on my bed with my laptop she will lay beside me and kiss my hands.

You BET they do!
They all react differently, howver, some pretending not to recognize you, while others come meowing to roomies while you're gone, demanding to know where they hid the BODY!
LOL!
