The cheapest? I think you better get the most suitable with your needs. Don't find the cheapest, it will back fire to your computing needs. I suggest, buy compaq or acer brand. Those are the best in the market for the low end laptop. Don't get HP, IBM, lenovo, toshiba, or dell. They are the premium brand.

Just a few reminder here: don't go for a cheap laptop because your not going to use it for a short term basis. Better invest on a good quality laptop even though the price is a little higher because youre going to use it for years. Also, look for a brand that you will have an available spare parts.
I used to be an impulsive buyer and bought laptop at a cheaper price and not because of its quality. Soon after, I regret it because I realize I just wasted my money because the laptop I bought does not have an available spare part here in our country. Disposable laptop as they say!

hi!
I think you should not look at a lap top to see if its cheaper or not.First you should at what things you want according to your requirements as you won't be buying a laptop everyday. As for me you should look for laptops of HP,Lenovo,Dell Your last choice should be acer as it does not have the quality which others have.I think its just a wrong thing to ask for the cheapest laptop rather look for what you want!
Just go through the market look for the different models according to your needs an then decide on the cheapest out of them.

I think Laptop by the acer are cheapest and nowadays these are becoming more and more cheap as due to the growing competition in the market between the different manufacturing companies. You can survey the market and can look for some different models in the acer that will be the best for you if you want it at the cheaper rate.
Secondly you can look for the second hand laptops and can ask for it from your friends but i will prefer you to buy a brand new laptop as it will provide you the proper guarantee.

I suggest that you could define purposes to use laptop. For example, which activities that you frequently do: play games, surf net, office, etc.
Then you can pick a specification to compare the price.
