A girl in Houston was kicked out of her prom for wearing a too revealing dress. What do you think of this? do you think the chaperones made the right decision? Have you ever been kicked out of a school dance? Why?

Have the chaperones SEEN some of the prom dresses lately?! They're ALL "too revealing"! That bothers me. Those dresses cost an arm and a leg, you can order them out of a catalogue that the school hands out at prom time! Tickets to prom are also expensive. Just speaking as a parent here, not even as a former student, I would have been livid. My daughter would have received a full refund on both her dress and tickets from the school, or I would have raised a huge stink about it! Speaking as a former student, no, I never got kicked out of any school function. I just chose not to go in the first place.

Just so we can all see what the fuss is about, I put up a picture.
Who in their right minds let this girl out of the house dressed like that? Prom is a night of elegance and grace. Not a night to look like you should be charging for it, if you know what I mean. This is not just skimpy. It is barely there. It is not even a dress. It is two pieces of material barely covering the basics that should be covered.
Her parents should have vetoed the dress. Her friends should have stepped up and told her how wrong the dress was. The chaperones were right to ask her to go change. When she refused to leave, they had no choice but to call the police to make her leave. Allowing her to stay would have ruined prom for everyone else who had the sense to know how to dress appropriately for the event.

Yes, I think they made the correct choice. Locally last year for prom season a lot of girls were refused admittance to various proms. The schools syetms have rules about what is and is not appropriate. Those rules apply during school and at school event - including promo.

I was never kicked out of a prom or any school dance, but a girl I went to school with got kicked out prom for wearing a dress that showed a little bit of her belly. Now, this was many years ago, so I am assuming showing a little bit of belly is the norm these days and too revealing means a very-barely-there dress!
