From my own experience I frankly confess that it makes a hell lot of a difference if the atmosphere resembles ur home. Most of the times it does happen that u wont feel like going home due to several factors, circumstances incidents which u cannot discuss it with anybody. In the office we normally work 10-12 hrs it is quite natural that u share various moments, feelings, emotions, the highs and the lows with ur colleagues. At the same time it does wonders in your professional relation u build a fantastic rapport also a healthy competition is there so as to improve each others performance also a great understanding does exist which is a positive sign for the companys growth as well as yours.Balancing of both is compulsory no compromises.

I feel some business houses like it to be professional place, ideal atmosphere for work. During lunch break, coffee break, there is always a sports area, recreating area and cafeteria. Concentration on business is important. At the most, a light music can be played during working hours.

It is good for the office to feel like home. People are more comfortable and get more work dones. With the majority of us spending more time a week at work than at home, we need to be comfortable in our work place. If the people that you work with don't feel like family, then you end up not being happy.

An office atmosphere should be both. Familys are very close with eachother. A lot of familys tell eachother everything but you don't want to be that close with the people you work with cuz that will eventually make things complicated. So in an office things must be professional but have a bit of a family togetherness which will make the office a little more relaxed and not so stressed.
