Honestly i love myspace cause i can keep up with a lot of the friends i make there. but have you ever noticed these girls that have websites that want to friend you. or even better yet (and my personal favorite i might add) these girls or a set of two girls that are magically moving to your neighborhood and don't have any friends and happen to want you specifically to show them around? i find it funny cause it wreaks of desperation. what is everyone else's thoughts on this what i consider to be a huge problem?

Yeah, I hate the sl*tty "friend requests." They're bogus, trying to either sell a S3X site, or phish your account. What a pain. I also hate getting requests from bands, comedians, etc., so I have that option turned OFF on my MySpace account. I also hate when people request you to add them, and they seem normal at first but turn into complete weirdos and ask you for naked pics of yourself, etc. I delete those people in a half of a heart beat! If they post chain letters in the bulletins I don't mind, but when you start bulk messaging on MySpace, and it's a chain letter, I'll delete you. I can't stand that! (Chain letters are the ones that sound more or less to the effect of: "If you don't forward this to 99 million people within three minutes, your hair will fall out, you'll go blind, and you'll have bad luck for ___ amount of years.) Give me a break! Or how about the people who post "Try this! I signed up and got a free ipod!" If I've known the friend for a while and have been speaking to them on a regular basis, I'll know it wasn't their fault - their account was obviously hacked. But if it's someone I haven't spoken to much (let alone at all), I'll delete them if they've done it more than once. What I can't stand is that I have a few legitimate sites of my own and the URLS don't work because of the new "msplinks" thing that MySpace changes all URLs to. I've asked and asked to have them taken off their "bad URL" list, but they haven't. It's not like I've spammed anyone with them. It's not fair.

Well, I've found that your links will work in the blog section. So just post a blog with all your favorite links (including links to your own sites.)

I have the same problem with guys on myspace, the only difference is they email me. They are looking to hook up with someone they don't even know, it's even worse when they are from out of state and this is sad. I have to even wonder why they are contacting me, as there is nothing special that stands out about my profile, it is basically for friends and family. I also hate it when bands want to be my friend, because they think I will listen to their music and comment. There is a lot more I could say about this, but it would take some time to mention all my pet peeves. great discussion!

Probably, myspace is only good enough to people of 15-40 years of age, it being a venue for socialization. I am a member of that site but I do seldom visit it because I am not actually fond of socializing. I am not into false pretenses, besides I noticed that there are several scammers in that site. I received several messages from its members only to find out later that they were scammers.

I find it almost saddening because its internet dating for the loser who doesn't want to admit that they are dating online because they think that since your top 8'ed they'll magically drive thousands of miles to meet you just for the sake of going out for coffee. Its a huge problem but its more funny than anything.
