I just spoke today with a friend and she's so down. she just broke up with her bf 3 hours before i post this topic. she said her world stopped! so i said to her.."MOVE on with your life...it hurts, but slowly...if you start moving your feet ahead, you'll never notice you're upstairs again. so cheer up girl...or else you might need an elevator". Then she laughed.

It is hard to move on after a split. Sometimes the lonliness gets to be overwhelming. I think the best thing is to plan a breakup in advance if possible, so that you can get some of your needs met elsewhere.

Good that you're there for your friend. In times like this she needs someone to talk to and of course help her mend her broken heart.
But I still believe in second chance. They could still continue with their relationship. I know theres still a chance.

It's easy to say things but it's hard to actually do the process of moving on because it takes time.

Telling someone to 'move on' is the easiest things that you can do and the things that isn't appreciated by the one that has to move on.
My girlfriend dumped me like a month ago, she changed my completely, i loved her and i still do. I can't just move on. It's simply impossible, maybe it gets easier after a while, but it's not that easy.
I don't know how your friend took it when you said to move on. But everyone who says that to me, gets "the angry face", i really don't like it, when people say that to me.
