Some of you know, my youngest cat got hit by a car and killed back in March. Since then, I SWEAR she comes back during the night. We hear the scratching noises she used to make on the doors or while playing. This morning, my other cat was sound asleep next to me. When suddenly, she wakes up, jumps down from my bed and goes into the hallway and starts wigging out. All I hear is her claws as she runs back and forth across the carpet, she meows like she used to when they used to play. I honestly think she was playing with Bootsie (the ghost cat) After about 10 minutes, she stops, then jumps back up on the bed and goes back to sleep. Later, after my husband was up, she started it again. He didn't see anything she could be playing with. Have you exprienced anything like this after a beloved pet dies?

To each there own I guess. That's what makes this such a great, diverse world; different people with different beliefs.

Yes I have. When my favorite cat, Isis, was hit and killed by a car many years ago. For months after she was hit we could sometimes still see her on the counter or walking down the hall. Just out of the corner of our eyes. If you looked directly you couldn't see her. I even heard her meow once in a while. Eventually she stopped visiting but she was around for a while.

She visited you for just as long as you both needed! That is beautiful. They are sneaky little creatures..in life AND afterlife

I heard a line in a movie say that Cats are half in and half out anyway. Meaning they are half in the physical realm and half in the spiritual. I think that is true. Cats are much more attuned to things not of this earth than most. Maybe that's why it is so easy for them to visit and linger a while.

It's not a ghost, it's the energy they leave behind!

Yes, I lost my beloved dog due to cancer back in Jan. 2008, and he is still with me and always will be.I know of a woman that can actually talk to animals and she talked my dog for me. The name of her book is "Pets have feelings too" by Monica Diedrich. She is a professional animal communicator. Please visit this site www.petcommunicator.com and you will see all of her books and what people have to say about her readings! It took me months before I could actually accept my loss. I miss him and always will but he is happy and no longer in pain and I know we will be together again, forever!

What an awesome woman! Thank you for the link. I have bookmarked it It does give us comfort to know that our pets are no longer suffering. When you have someone such as Monica help us through the pain, it makes it easier.

Nothing like that but after my Birdie got killed, she was midnight black, I always saw a black cat walking in my yard, it looked so much like Birdie, that I called here a few times, but it wasn't her..

It may not have physically been her, but I bet in some way she appeared to you like that so you would feel comforted :)

Hi, dizzblnd, I'm sorry for your lost and you being haunted by the cat. I never have that experience as I can't rare cat in my house. My parents disallow me to do so. But I ever passed by a cat which is almost dying. I felt pity to that cat, and I tried my best to find a shelter for it and find food for it. But the cat is too sick and can't accept my offering. And it die in front of my eyes. I felt so sad and buried it. That's my experience, but i never see it haunted me. Maybe we just had a short moment!

Thank you for your kind words I am sorry for you that you can't have a cat. You are very kind for trying to help that cat. I a sure you both needed each other at that moment in time. It may have been to short of a moment for you to get attaced, but who knows, one day you just might get a "visitor"

I think it's quite possible. Pets are just like humans I feel and them coming back as ghosts is quite possible in my opinion. We recently lost a cat that I was pretty attached too and I'm actually surprised I haven't experienced anything relating to her as of late. I don't believe we've actually had anything like that happen here, but like I said, I feel that it is quite possible.

They do possess a lot of human qualities. Your cat may not come to you lie mine has, but I am sure you have dreamed of her. Its the same thing. If you dream of her, she is telling you she is OK. Bootsie has come into my daughters dream a LOT. It is always joyous for my daughter, it was her cat.

Yes, I have. There's no noise, but very brief sightings around the house of my beloved Tabitha. Something will catch my eye and I will look in that direction to catch a quick glimpse of her, actually, a ghostly image of her. This is a good thing, and I feel more comforted than frightened by the experiences. And our beloved pets are waiting for us on the Other Side and in the meantime, do visit us on the physical plane. Animals, like humans, are spiritual beings too.

It is comforting to know they are still with us. They ARE spiritual beings, I just wish everyone saw them that way. I wish my Bootsie would "show" herself to me like Tabitha has for you. But for now, I am happy that my cat can see her

She is unforgettable! I still tear up when I think of her. She was a PITA, but she held a special place in all of our hearts. I believe in the afterlife and the other side as well. I wish some people could be more open-minded
