My BIRTHDAY isn't quite so great

Today is my birthday, but it isn't as great as it was suppose to be. Unfortunately, last night me and my husband got into a car accident. No one was hurt, which I'm very happy to be living on my birthday. It was a 16 year old girl driving the other car with 3 of her friends. She wasn't paying any attention when she tried to make a left turn from the right lane. She didn't signal or anything. Luckily my husband saw it as soon as he did, if not things could've been worst, so he swerved out as much as he could. But everything that we had planned for my birthday just got ruined. We don't have a car because our front wheel got messed up. We're hoping to try and get a rental car today, but we know its gonna cost a bit more than we'd hope since, neither one of us is 25 years old. They charge extra for each day that we rent the car. And we don't even know when our car is going to get fixed.
Has anyone experienced something similar? Maybe something happened that caused a big day you planned not to happen anymore or changed it drastically? Please share what has happened to you.

I know I'm a little late and thanking you for telling me happy birthday, but I figured better late than never. I was just really caught up in all the details of the car accident and trying to make the most of my birthday. But I do appreciate it. I brings a bit of a smile to my face.

It's alright, at least you responded. And I appreciate the response very much so. I just enjoy reading and sometimes people say something that is touching. And I know I was lucky to have my man with me, so I was very thankful for that and I would never forget that birthday, it'd be hard to.

Thank you for your response. I am very thankful that my husband and I are still alive. I did try my best to enjoy my birthday. We just went through so much to try and rent a car. Man, do those things cost a lot of money. We eventually got one that day and things went alright. He didn't get to do everything he had planned because we didn't get a car til the afternoon. And things are slowly starting to workout. We even got another rental car that his insurance is paying for because come to find out the little girl wasn't on her parents policy. And our insurance is covering it and will I guess end up sending the bill to the little girl's parents. And my husband is happy to find out that his car might not be a total loss and they maybe able to fix it. I'm just happy things are going well.

two years ago I was going to eat breakfast out, then
buy a birthday gift for a friends party.but as icame around
the back of my favorite cafe, I caught my right foot
on something and fell really hard on my leftshoulder.
no breakfast out no birthdayshopping or party, instead
'a ride via ambulance to the emergency room, then surgery
on smashed bones in my left shoulder and a shoulder joint
replacement.a permanent loss of most of the use of my left
arm so no that day was a real bummer with lasting results
for me.

Wow, that is such an awful thing to have happened to you. I am glad however that you are stil alive and kicking as they say. I'm sure that you friend completely understood. I wonder sometimes why some of these things happen to us. I know people think why me and figured they've been doing so well. That's kind of how my husband and I were thinking. We aren't sure why it happened, even though we know everything happens for a reason. Well thanks for sharing your experience.
