Which non-living thing or place do you miss most from your childhood?

The place I miss most is The Kursaal fairground in Southend-on-Sea, (UK). I spent some very happy times in there as a young child. It was closed down in the early 1980s, demolished, and a housing estate was built on the site.
I still have dreams about how The Kursaal used to be, and it was the main attraction of the town in years gone by. Sadly, it will never be restored to its former glory, because of the housing estate.

I miss going to the house that my friend Chuck and his family lived in at the time. It was a really big house out in the country with a pond to fish in and plenty of places to hunt and camp and things like that. I spent a lot of time there as a kid, and we always had a good time being outdoors fishing and things.

I actually wanted to buy the place when it was sold, but the timing wasn't right. Had it been sold a year later, I would have bought it...

I miss Keansburg, they closed it last year, to build condos, since it is on shore line, it was a much less expensive amusement park than some of the bigger ones on the jersey shore and since my cousins lived near their we spent a lot of time there in summers because most of my cousins had their first jobs there.

Thanks for your reply.
Shame these things from our past have to go, and when they get torn down, it's as if a huge hunk of our personal history has been ripped to bits.

Bummer. Luckily my place still exists but I can't get to visit. It is Dalensandro's, the best Cheesesteak place in Philly! When I was young I lived in Philly and we could just pop in the car and go. Now I'm about a 4 hour drive away. But... I did find a Cheesesteak place that is similar.
