I phoned them on two occasions and got excellent customer service over the phone. I found them to be very friendly and helpful. I suggest you try calling them. It may be long distance (I wish they had a 1-800 number) but it's better than waiting for a response to your email and getting frustrated.

If you can, phone them rather than email them. From my experience, the email service is run by lazy idiots who can't be bothered to read your requests properly. Or maybe just can't read. The person I spoke to on the phone was much better, and very helpful.

Hi bikespot,
Be very very careful when dealing with Paypal.
If you make the wrong move or displease them in any way, they'll lock your account or worse.
We're really very much at a disadvantage when trying to deal with Paypal, because they use their monopoly power ruthlessly, and there's not a damn thing that anyone can do about it.
Yes, Paypal is very convenient and is a great help when things are going well - but if they decide to turn nasty on you, you're screwed.
So be careful and don't ruffle any feathers - just be patient (even if their customer service IS a total crock).

Dodo -
Paypal has excellent customer service. If you really think they are just out there to screw you over, you should not be using the service at all.

Hi again,
This probably doesn't warrant a lot of effort - no point trying to convince people that the service that they're happy with now can turn nasty on them if it wants to.
Two things, though -
1. Check "monopoly" in your dictionary - Paypal is a monopoly, so there's often no alternative service. If you doubt that, just look at the payment model adopted by myLot. Why do I use Paypal? I wouldn't, if there were a viable alternative.
2. Yes, Paypal's service goes swimmingly well, for most people most of the time. It's not until your account gets locked - for whatever reason, or even for no apparent reason - that the individual consumer discovers just how powerless he or she is. And there's no appeal - if your account EVER gets locked, you're screwed.
So I repeat my original sentiments - tread carefully if you want to KEEP your excellent Paypal service. If you're ever kicked out, for any reason, you'll need a miracle to ever recover the situation. And remember that word "monopoly" - there's not a lot of alternatives if Paypal shuts you out.

The only way I have ever had any luck dealing with Paypal was by making a phone call and waiting on hold FOREVER. Email's have never gotten any of my issues solved that I can remember because it takes them a long time to respond.

Maybe you should call them. You might have to wait for awhile ut they will eventually get to your call. They are probably understaffed.

Don't rely on PayPal email service. If you are using an account like hotmail, you will never get a response. You are better calling them.
They give excellent customer service when you call them. They solve your problems in a speedy manner.
