That's crazy. Our dog and cats never got along. I would never knowingly have a rat in the house, so can't say about that. That's adorable at the end where the cat is cleaning the dog though.

So glad you responded now I can add some information on this video that I forgot to put in the topic.
This is a video of one of the homeless in Santa Barbara and his pets. They work State Street every week for donations. The animals are pretty well fed and are mellow. They are a family. The man who owns them rigged a harness up for his cat so she wouldn't have to walk so much (like the dog and himself). At some juncture the rat came along, and so no one wanted to eat anyone else, the rat started riding with the cat and often, on the cat. The dog will stand all day and let you talk to him and admire him for a few chin scratches. The mayor of Santa Barbara filmed this clip and sent it out as a Christmas card.

That video is amazing. We recently viewed a newscast where a dog had
adopted about fifteen abandoned kittens. Thanks so much for sharing.

I agree with what you are saying. Animals can form the most unlikely friendships. What is wrong with people? Why can't more people "act like animals" and do the exact same thing? Thanks for sharing that video.

whiteheather they must know something more than we
'thickheaded humans know. this is so adorable
and is true too. Our cats and our dog always got'
along. so cats and dogs can do it. the rat makes
it even more poignant. And that music was just perfect.
