being new to mylot and hearing about these ''trolls'' etc scares you off

I don't worry about it. I'm here to have fun and chat. I'm here to make friends. I know this is a LARGE community and in ANY community there are bound to be negative people. But there are so many wonderful and positive people here too. Do you really want to miss out on the great people just to avoid the few that are not so nice? I don't.

Well, I think you should just post on any discussions you feel like and express your opinions! Trolls don't bother me. In fact, I enjoy their company. It gives me something to laugh at and someone to argue with. I don't really care that a lot of people mark me negative because of my opinions. I don't call names and I don't break any rules, so there is no need for me to get the negatives, but like I said, I don't care about my number at all so whatever! Don't be afraid of people here... most of them are nice!

LIKE ANY COMMUNITY, there are those members who tarnish the image of the whole. There are trolls here but they are the minority. There are also those who take it upon themselves to act as site police. They have both empty heads and lifes. Maybe they are living out a power fantasy? I personally believe its a myth, like the abominable myllotian. Don't let this things affect you, as long as you state your opinion in a nice diplomatic way, you obey the rules and you post a lot how could you go wrong? Take care Daniellegldn and more power.

Don't worry about anyone rating you bad. You should still be polite and give answers that relate to the subject, but if you have something to say, just let it out. That's the point of this program: open discussion. You shouldn't have to worry about how people rate you or perceive you. Don't let these "trolls" stop you from expressing yourself! I have not had much of this activity in my three or four months here, so I wouldn't be at all concerned if I were you. Welcome to MyLot -- I hope it's a great experience for you and you lose all this unfounded fear and begin to open up more without worrying about others.

I have only been here a month or so, but there really aren't that many trolls on here. I know several people have complained about them, but I have written on all kinds of controversial issues from homosexuality to abortion and i have yet to have one challenge my on something. If you just don't want to be bothered by them, just make sure you put "In my opinion..." in the post. Chances are you do it anyways since most of the discussions on here are opinion based to begin with. You shouldn't have too much trouble honestly. There are tons of other members here that will stand up for you, so there's nothing really to worry about. I would just post your own views, after all that is what this site is all about. Don't let other people influence what you are going to say (unless it is derogatory of course). Welcome to mylot and enjoy!

This type of troll activity runs on all sites along these lines. There is no escaping it for some people. Others get lucky and never have the trolls affect them. I say don't be worried about it till it happens. Then when it happens to you that would be the time to think about what you want to do as far as it goes being here etc. Post your own views as this site has "discussions" to be replied to and "discussed". People will always argue no matter be it here or outside of the internet. Just have fun and do what you like doing when here. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Don't worry about it, just keep posting and enjoying yourself here in MyLot land. The trouble makers are the minority and if everyone here ignores them, they will soon get fed up.

hiya hunni, just ignore them, i know what you mean, was happen to me too and im really really upset but hey i tell to myself, im here to have fun and we are still not in heaven yet to meet all good people lol...there are still devils around lol, just ignore them and they will stop, dont ignore them and feel upset everytime you see them post hurting words and they will stay with you forever, cheers hunni life is good, continue making discussion and you will see more people are nice than bad.

It seems you have been here longer than I have but I'm not scared of any trolls. I read some of the postings about trolls and I realized that many people hate to hear other people oppose their views. I have also realized that people choose interests here. If you choose interests that coincide with someone else's, if the person has a different view from yours, you'll keep finding this person airing his or her views under those interests. It doesn't mean the person is following you around. It means the person has similar interests with you but disagrees with you. Humans, by nature, hate dissent. Thus, when people disagree with us, we tend to think of them as enemies. This is not healthy. There are two sides to every story. We must present our side with dignity and others will respond likewise and the world will keep on turning.
