I think the lack of quality teachers and determination of students is making our school systems fail. As of right now the USA is losing an education battle with a lot of European and Asian countries. Eventually they may become more intelligent than us which could lead for a weaker country in future generations.

I went to work today thinking about this question. Do I believe that I am getting my money's worth out of my sons school? Yes I do. I don't pay very much to send him to school and they watch him for me for 8 hours a day as well as teach him basic skills such as reading and math.
Do I think that our schools need improvement? Yes I do. There is alot of room for improvement in our school system. Those improvements are going to cost alot of money. Money that our schools do not have.
Our government has tried their hand at raising money for our schools, yet always seem to find other places to spend it. What ever happened to proceeds from stat lotteries that were supposed to go toward education? The funds seem to evaporate.
What we need are heros. People who are willing to work with children to educate them about life. People who are kind and considerate who care for nothing outside of the childs well being. Programs that support this type of activity often fall short of the mark or fail completely due to the lack of participants.
It all begins with you and me. Are we too busy for our children? Can we spare the time and energy to work with them and help them grow to be responsible well educated adults? Are we continuing to learn ourselves so that we have more to offer our children?
Our schools are not in the best shape. I ask the question, where is our responsibility to our childrens future?
