I usually switch on my computer twice a day. During week days, normally I would switch on my computer after I have finished my daily morning routine at 10 am or so. I would switch off the computer at 1 pm before I go to work. I would switch on my computer again in the evening after come back from work. I will never switch off my computer even if I am not sitting in front of it. Sometimes I might leave it to watch tv movies for about two hours. I only switch it off before going to bed in the late night.

Ones a day, unless it need reseting like program update. On some cases I would leave it for some days during lengthy downloads, my longest record is 2 weeks. I just make sure its properly ventilated. I would switch my monitor off though most of the time.

Hello atishahzad. I usually switch on and off my computer twice respectively at most if it is during my working weeks, but not on my weekends when I stay home enjoying my time surfing on the Internet. Thank you for your discussion.

It is probably better to leave your computer on during the day and then turn it off at night. I recommend this especially if it is connected all the time to the Internet as with a Router. The computer power suppplies now a days are pretty bullet proof but still they can go bad. A PS runs around 50-100 depending what size and model. Then you have to have someone put it in unless you have the knowledge, it is really not hard. The motherboard, chip and memory can take a beating if it is turned on and off a lot. I leave my work machine on all of the time, even on the weekends. Then again I am not paying for it. My home machine I only use maybe once a day or so and I turn it off after each use. Hope this helps...
