Whatever Happen To Protecting And Serving?

I do not like to pre-judge anyone. Nor do I like to judge a person by anyone else's standards or mistakes. So since I have never personally had a bad experience with LAPD, I tend to trust them. I mean, don't get me wrong, I have heard of some things that they have done and know that they are true. But I do not have any personal stories, so I choose to give them all the benefit of the doubt. But then, when I hear stories about police preying on innocent children, it is totally frightening. I know that every one has problems, no one is perfect, but we have to get help for the problems that we have that can harm others. We can not just accept them and carry them out. This story is the perfect example of what I am speaking of. A 53 year old retired cop has been charged with taking suggestive pictures of little girls. http://cbs2.com/local/Ralph.Lakin.Child.2.726594.html

The problem i see with people regarding cops and such is that they have the same idea with cops as they do with their elected officials and politicians-they believe that these people should be held so much higher in their moral values than the rest of society. when it comes to politicians, odds are most are liars-and the things to remember with a cop is that they are regular people just like us. Besides their dedication to server, they are people and every personal has some sort of fault. What we have to stop doing is lumping every cop into the same category because the news blows up every cop story. when it comes down to it, more regular citizens are committing crimes than cops-that does not mean the general public is a giant mass of bad people.
