I went to a presentation evening last night for ladies football team and thoroughly enjoyed my evening. My friends daughter picked up a Player of the Match award and Best New Player Award. The atmosphere was fantastic and they showed some of the highlights from different matches. There was a definate team spirit amongst them all and the guys who coach and train we amazing in their speaches of how dedicated they all are. I think it is fantastic to see girls participate in this sport but what do you think? Should they play or should they leave it to the men?
Please share your thoughts. Ellie :D

I see no reason at all why women should not play football, sometimes they are better than the guys - LOL My late Father used to play football for a local team and he always said that sometimes the ladies were better players than the blokes, and he often refereed the local ladies team too.

Well, that'll be great for women to learn football. That will be a real funny show for me to watch. Of course, there will be different standards from mens football. There are risks involved. So ladies should never follow the same steps as men.

I guess it is also wonderful for ladies to play football, we have a lot of women nowadays who can run and who have that love for the said sport! I always love to play before but I don't have that air for the game, LOL! During my physical education in College, I always end up catching my breath!LOL! need to exercise more!

personally i think a woman can do whatever she puts her mind.
the way i see it since women go through a lot for nine months, and spend hrs in the delivery room to bring a baby in the world. that alone makes her tough. she can take care of her family, and make sure the family has what they need. she is able to take the pain that she will endure out on the field. i think it will be interesting to see ladies play the games. i like football.
I say "Ladies U go Girl"

Why shouldn't women play "masculine" sports. We have a very thriving women's rugby team here who are always getting themselves in the paper. A friend of our daughters has played football since she was about nine and the team is very successful. More power to them I say. Just don't ask me to play though. Not a pretty sight. LOL.

Sure. I think that women should be able to do anything that any man can do if she wants to do it. It is a free world and women can do some things just as good as men can, if not better than them sometimes. I think women should be given a chance at more things than they already are.

Congradulations on your daughters friend. Thats cool for women to have their own league just like men. I remember this girl back in high school who wanted to play football with the guys as there was no womens league. I can't believe she wanted to do that and the coach actaully let her. She ended up getting her leg broken. Thats bad but what do you expect.

I used to love football as I bought up with it as my father was a very good player but have only recently started taking an interest again because of my friends daughter playing and my son becoming interested in it. I think ladies can play just aswell as men too. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this. Ellie :D

As I was growing up, there were no girls football teams at school. No girl was really interested in playing it, we were all netball, hockey and rounders. Football was something the boys played and us girls would go and drool over them when they played!!
Nowadays it is becoming really common to see girls playing football, indeed my niece plays and by all accounts is very good. She plays in a local league so she must be good. I love that girls get the chance to play and I think that some of the girls could give men a run for their money. Maybe they should give girls a chance to play for England, who knows we might win for once!!
