I am currently using Internet Explorer as the main browser. Fairly often I have issues opening all sites. There is no reason why this happens, as far as I know. Would you suggest using Internet Explorer or Firefox as a browser? Which is safer and more effective for using while working on myLot discussions? I appreciate any advice and thanks to everyone who responds.

I've been using Firefox for a number of years now and use it almost exclusively. Once in a while I'll find something that works better with IE (like Mahjong Safarie, on pogo.com), but for the most part I stick with Firefox. I am more than satisfied with their service.

I have always used internet explorer for all of my sites that I work with online. It is the best one as far I can tell. I tried to use Firfox once and it did not work well on my computer at all. I had alot of problems with it. It made my computer go very slow also. My internet explorer is working just fine and I can open several windows all at once also. It may be the version of internet explorer you are using. I tried to use internet explorer seven and it does not work well for me. I use internet explorer six and it works great.

I have always used Internet Explorer and recently went for the switch to FireFox and I am so happy I did. I find it faster and I feel safer using Firefox. After you download Firefox Internet Explorer is still in your computer, you just choose which browser you want to use. Once in a while I will come across a site that I can only access using IE so I go to my desktop and chick on IE and use it. They are both (IE & Firefox) icons are on my desktop at all times. I set it up so Firefox is the default browser (under tools) but you can go back and change it when ever you want. Just go to Firefox's website and see all the goodies you can add to their browser.

Your welcome my friend. This is what stopped me from downloading it in the first place because I thought I had to get rid of IE all together, no one told me you get to keep them both and use whichever you want. With Firefox it has auto spell so when you type in your discussions here in mylot it will tell you if you've misspelled something and give you the option to correct it. Great little feature.

if you are using for personal use then i suggest Firefox.don't ever use Firefox in public that is in browser centers.your personal details can be easily looted from Firefox.now a new browser has been introduced named flock.it is almost like Firefox.try this.

I don't like IE too much because it goes too slow I would suggest either Firefox (http://www.mozilla.org) or Opera (http://www.opera.com) because they run faster and have less issues. You stated you have IE 6 without any tabs, well you should upgrade your IE browser, you could use Mathox2 (http://www.maxthon.com/) it uses IE but updates lots of things and makes for a better browser experience. When I'm on myLot I usually use Opera or Firefox because it seems to run better than IE. IE seems to take forever to load the pages. Pablo

Most people say Firefox is better. It will have less possibility that your computer gets attacked. Most of the time I use Firefox unless some websites don't support Firefox, and then I have to use IE. I love China

I like the idea that Firefox is secure. IE works fine for me most of the time but lately I've had issues. Thanks for responding.

Buddy take my advice IE is the best. Also you should have metioned your operating system. Firefox is not good try beta one just released and you will know the faults it has plenty of them. Try downloading IE7 it is good. Also in terms of security there is nothing like IE. I am a developer and i see IE as very strong amongst all the browsers.

You shouldn't say a software is unstable if you only tried the beta version. That is for developers only like they're saying on the site. The last stable version of firefox is 2.0.0.14 and if you had problems with it it's ok but if you're talking about Firefox 3 it's normal that it crashes easily because it was a version to test to find out all problems they still have to work on.

I used to use internet explorer, but have made the switch to Firefox. I find that Firefox runs faster and doesn't let in as many viruses/spy ware, when I download things.

I reccomend Firefox. Internet Explorer is crap in comparison. Firefox also has alot less security holes than Internet Explorer.
