Mylot is a good place to go for a visit. When i first came here,i found that i could written down my thoughts all in English, then i felt so excited! We can talk everything here. And in English! So intersting.
But,after i started some discussion and saw some comments of english native speakers,I found that my English is so simple and i didn't know how to express my exact feelings to you(but i m trying^^).Some words i never come across.Oh,Godness! This is the reason why i didn't come here these days,i don't know how to say,how to express my feeling.
I feel so sorry:(How about u? really want to know^_~

Looking at it positively: You are having an oppurtunity to interact with the native english language users. It should help you learn the language much faster. You can make note of the words or usage of the words found in the discussions over here.Pick up a disctionary and keep learning. That should help you.

Hi, liuqian! Don't feel sorry about this, because English is not your native language and you're learning the language after all. Imagine some native English speaker going to China and speaking the Chinese language to you, I'm sure they'll also find it hard to express themselves; that's about as close an example we can get to the situation over here. If you find it hard trying to express yourself, use a word as close to your feelings as possible that you can think of. I'm sure the mylotters will be able to get a hint of what you're saying, and as long as you get the message across, there's no problems at all. Besides, the mylot community is made up of helpful members, so I'm sure no one will scold you or anything for not being able to express yourself properly. Anyway, just continue to post here on mylot (try to come everyday) and I'm sure your English will become better and better as the days go by. Read others' discussions and responses, and analyze the sentence structure, grammar, vocabulary etc. and you'll be learning very fast. All the best and don't hesitate to ask for help if you need it!

Yeah, sure....feel free to ask me any questions that you might have, and I'll try to answer them to the best of my ability. But since I'm going to be quite busy these days, you might have to wait for a few hours or even days before you get an answer. If you don't mind that, then by all means turn to me if you have any problems. All the best!

well english is my first language. But i don't criticize those who are trying to learn it and to be honest it is the hardest language to learn. I know some mandarin and if I can I will help you the best I can to understand any words that you may have a problem with. Best of luck to you and add me as friend if you would like.

It's hard to express yourself in a language that isn't your native tongue. I can honestly say though sometimes I think those that have learnt English as a second language take more time and care to use proper spelling and grammar than those of use that speak English on a regular basis.
Don't give up. Everyone has trouble expressing their thoughts and feelings at times.

English isn't my native language either and I used to be really bad at it (when I thought I was doing a pretty good job), but by posting on forums like this I've learnt to speak English quite good or at least better than a couple of years ago. So my advice is to keep posting discussions and responding because I'm sure you'll improve very fast. :)

Don't let this bother you nor make you want to leave myLot. This site is a great learning tool for many people. You have the chance to enhance you're English speaking/writing etc. Other members get to learn about others cultures. I have many friends on my list from other countries and a lot of them don't write great in English either and mix their words up. I don't say anything as they will learn from the others word etc. Just be yourself and enjoy your time here and learn things as you also teach others abut you and your life and cultures. Have a great day/evening as well.
HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

English is not my native language as well. But i do know how to express myself somehow although sometimes i would admit that im having a little problem translating. and just like you, i also find mine so simple. i noticed a lot of us not english speaking mylotters post comments, start discussions with some difficulty expressing ourselves yet we received good responses to those mylotters whose native language is english, without criticism. as they always say: "practice makes perfect". it will really take us sometime and effort to master any language and we must never feel frustrated. lets just have fun with it as we learn it. :-)

Don't be sorry liuqian. We are here to interact with one another and be friends. No one or nobody will kill you when you post a wrong grammar discussion or response. LOL Take myLot as an opportunity to learn a new language and practice what you learn here. That is what I am doing. I too, is not that fluent in english and I can say that I have learned and improve so much here in mylot.

I must say you are doing a fine job. You have done a superb job in your english speaking.
I have seen alot of new mylot people come in here that can't speak a word of english but but try to and only leave one or two words leaving us to figure out what they are trying to talk about. I will simply respond to some of these discussions explaing that they need to put more than just one or two words that they need to make it 4 to five lines long on what there discussion is about and as well as responding to discussions in order to get responses from anyone. I've had one come back and thanked me at a later time and added me to his friends list for he was so appreciative for the advice that noone gave him I was the first to respond to his discussion. Don't feel sorry for not knowing how to express your feelings. In all honesty if you just be yourself and go w/ the flow you will do just fine here. good luck and welcome to mylot.
