Everytime we have a strawberry festival the strawberries are gone from the fields.
We just got a quart from the local farmers today. They are so good!!!
The kids will have strawberry crepes for breakfast in the morning!

I have mabe 15 June bearing strawberries as well as a new ever harvest strawberry planted in my back yard. Nothing like going into your back yard and picking a berry from the vine and eating it right away. So sweet and tasty.
HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I love strawberry crepes. That is what I'm going to make later this week, as my daughter will be here at breakfast time. My daughter is RenaCeline maybe she will see the post. Have fun cooking breakfast. Thanks for the reply. Your profile picture is beautiful.

We have some strawberry plants in our greenhouse and up our front walkway. Unfortunately between the squirrels and my 7 year old they don't make it in the house.

I was not able to go the the Strawberry festival last year, but I did go this year. I think it is such a waste of money to go now. One of the main reasons I used to go was a certain Pewter shop there, but this year it wasn't there. I was so angry as it cost so much to get in and then the food is so overly priced there. I bought some strawberries, because you would have been a complete waste if I had gone and not even bought any.

That certainly would have been worse. Go to the event and not get any fruit would have been bad. Thanks for the reply.

We have a strawberry festival in the town next to ours-- it's not until summer though- as strawberries are not in season in NY yet.
I go each year-- they have tons of strawberries-- but also tons of crafts and other things as well. That is why I like it. We usually pick our strawberries from our area- but go to the festivals for the crafts and the strawberry goodies

We have a year round growing season. Its great because it means there is something healthy in the grocery stores every week. Thanks for the reply.

Gas price is the reason bananas went through the roof. Sadly, I don't like strawberries as well as bananas.............. I don't think my husband would move to some place with a higher cost of living than my area, as Hawaii is expensive. I'm always amazed at what they pay for certain foods.

I don't really like strawberries but used to go when I was married and it was fun.
Everything is out of my price range. I got excited about an antique flea market this weekend and wanted to go to see the lovely things but they were charging $5 admission!
There's not much affordable now, they're finding all the good stuff we used to go to that was free and charging for it now.

Parking is where you really pay a lot at this festival. I don't think parking should ever cost more than the fee for admission. Strawberries are the agricultural crop that makes the most money in this city. Its the reason strawberries are the one low cost fruit.

No strawberry festivals here either. I used to go, though, when I lived in Florida. And when I was in FL, I couldn't pass a field of strawberries without stopping at the stand always at the front of properties to buy fresh. Yum.

I enjoy fresh berries and planning to make a drink here shortly. Florida is where we might be moving to in the future. Its a great agricultural area like where I'm located in California. My husbands first choice is Utah and told him its to cold for me, as can't wear shorts year round. Thanks for the reply.

There is a small city near me called Hopkins. They have their little celebration know as Strawbeey Festival as well in early June. I have not been there for a few years but may get the wife out the Sunday it is happening to hear some music and just get away from the house.

As much as I want to go, my visa is only valid to the UK It would have been so much fun. Here whenever we go shopping for groceries I always look at those mouth-watering pack of strawberries but never bought one because they are too expensive. Well, we got some strawberries in the back garden and they are starting to bear fruits. I guess I'll just have to wait till they are ready for harvest.

That sounds like fun! We have a strawberry festival around here that I've been to a couple of times, but I think it isn't until later this summer. They always have so much to see and do. There are usually enough little free samples at ours that I don't feel like I have to really buy anything since I get enough of the samples. It can be awfully difficult to resist some of the things they have though-not just food, but some of the cute crafts and things that are always sold. It's always a fun time. :)

I don't think they have a strawberry festival in our area, but they do have blueberry festivals and more. My favorite when I was growing up was the Apple Festival. It was always a big weekend and some way or another they even managed to close the school for 2 days.

Have fun if you go to the festival. Its one way to try strawberries in so many different ways. Our local schools put up booths at this one. Thanks for replying.

I love our Strawberry festival, but like you we skipped last year. The year before we spent $100 and it got us in and the kids each got 1 ride and 1 game. For that price we are getting the Florida resident passes (you pay for 1 day and get a years pass) to Busch Gardens and Adventure Island. I hope they bring the prices back down once they realize how many people won't go till they do.
