Please wear your seat belt and don't speed.....

I'm only saying this for your own good, so that your family doesn't have to go through what my family just went through last week. My husband's cousin and her husband were speeding and not wearing their seatbelts, and got into a fatal accident. They are both dead. They have three young children, horses, dogs, bunnies, etc. They died on Mother's Day, which also happened to be their daughter's birthday. Please don't type that they shouldn't have been speeding, and that they should have been wearing their seatbelts. That will be hurtful. I just want to remind you to take care of yourselves, so that something like this doesn't have to happen again to provide a wake-up call.

dmillman thanks for reminding us because we can all forget these life saving things. I am scared silly every time I go out with my best friend Nelda as the seat belts in her car do not work and she has not had time nor money to replace them. it would just take one moment to get into an accident well I won't go there but you all know what I mean. I am going to have to plead with her to get it done for her own safety I love her dearly.

Thank you GRandpa Bob! It's sad to hear about it no matter who it is, but when it's someone you know, it always hits you closer to home.

Thank you for caring enough to caution us. I'm so sorry for your loss! I lost an aunt who didn't wear her seat belt, she could've been saved by it. My prayers are with you and your family, especially those poor children.

I'm so sorry to hear that. I always wear my seatbelt, although my father doesn't. I always ask him to, but he never does. It bothers me a great deal.

I and my husband have been a long time wearer of seat belts. My son many years ago got on our case about not wearing our seat belts. We got in the habit a long time ago due to our sons vigilance on keeping on us about it. So now it is a habit that we do automatically without thinking about it. Condolences to your family. It is always a very sad thing when something like this happens. I will keep you all in my prayers.

I am partially in tears when I read this. It is a very sad thing and we in this place are with you. In Singapore it is compulsory for vehicles under pain of fines and demerit points and yet some do not belt up. A recent incident involving a student in a school bus got the rule extended (in the process of) to school bus as well. We will pray for the family.

Thank you for the kind words. It's also good to hear that other countries have seatbelt laws. We have them here, but they just didn't wear theirs.
