I am thinking of trying to further my education. I'm thinking college or a technical school. I have almost made up my mind to go to college instead of the technical school. I am planning on going in for computer science. With a diploma will this give me a better opportunity in the working field than I would if I just had a certification or an associates degree? I've been wanting to go for quite awhile for computer science, and you can't really get that at technical schools.

well, a lot of big companies out there requires a University or College degree. so, i would encourage you to take a complete course on computer science. it will open more opportunity for you.
i am currently taking up masters in business administration. im looking forward to more opportunities soon.

Thanks for the comment. I am getting a bit of a late start on college. I am 26 years old. At this age I feel I can't make anymore mistakes concerning my education. After all, this will be for the rest of my life. Better to do it all the way than halfway. Thanks again.

Any degree is better than none. The higher the degree, the better. An associates degree is not worth much. If you can, aim for at least the bachelors degree. As the job market tightens, you should strive for a Masters as well, but you can do that while you work.

Yes, to have a diploma will take advantage of getting a job. But it is not always useful. Sometimes, especially working for international companies, they force more on your capacities and work experiences.
