What is the most you've been paid for one article?

I made 3.04 last week for an article..lol. That's the only one that I've sold outright, all the rest have been submitted for page views/performace payments. I have some more in to Associated Content that I hope they purchase. Hopefully I'll hear from them soon.
So, does anyone want to share the amount they made for their highest paying online article?

The most I made was for an article that was published in an off line magazine. I earned $420 for that one article (1200 words). The rest of my articles have been online. I'm currently writing for $10 an article and the rest of my articles are earning residual income so the amount changes from month to month.
I calculated that as of May 13, 2008 my articles on Suite 101 are averaging $11.93 per article. I wrote an article about writing for Suite 101 where I share my numbers: http://www.nojobformom.com/articles/suite101.shtml . Those numbers go up each month the longer the articles remain on their site.
Personally, I like earning residual income. You do the work once and keep earning.

Hello sunnflr.
The most I've made on one article was over 10 years ago. I wrote a 2,500 word article for a professional newsletter and was paid $1,500. But, we must keep in mind that that was for a professional newsletter and not for the internet. The circulation was over 20,000, if I remember right.
On the internet, the most I've made is $80 for a Helium article (I think I sold 2 at that price at the time). I was told recently that one of my articles sold for $120 at Helium, but then the publisher backed out and never bought any of the articles he pledged to buy. Bummer!
It's fun to sell the shorter articles, even if it's only for $20 or $30. I just have a very few articles on Associated Content and haven't made much there. I write under a different name at Helium.
Well, take care. And keep writing for the big bucks!

Hello sunnflr.
Thanks for your praise. However, it wasn't that I was such a great writer or anything. It was just that I had the professional expertise and knowledge in that field that the publisher was after. And I haven't done terribly well on the internet stuff, but I do write articles steadily, which at least earns me a few cents here and there.
I really just discovered the internet writing sites last August, so I am hoping that over time, I can build up a (small) monthly passive income on a couple of the sites.
Take care and keep writing.

I got $6 for every article, although it's from a paid blogging site. The site gives me new topics to write and I am paid $6 for every approved article. My site will tell you what paid blogging site I'm talking about. . . www.durezadolina.com

Yes, it is powered by wordpress. I just bought a domain name from them (my former domain name was www.dorisday.wordpress.com) through the money I earned from Smorty, my paid blogging site. By the way, what is associated content? It's new to me.

Associated Content is a site that pays people for writing articles. You should check it out if you like writing alot. They pay upfront payments for new original articles, and performance payments for stuff you've already published. But, if you are not living in the US I think it's only performance payments. They still add up though.

I write for AC too. The most I've made on an article with them is $8.07, it kind of teers downward after that. But I've been paid for 90% of the articles I've written, the least I've been paid is $4.00. Send me your link and I'll check out your stuff and help you with page views. You can look at my AC page through my myLot page. Let's help each other out.

Hey thanks. I can use all the help I can get. I've had a few they actually paid upfront for. But, recently I've been writing for Demand Studios instead because they pay 15.00 for each article and they like my stuff better..lol.
I just can't get down what AC want's. I keep getting the response about them wanting unique content. I'm still trying though, and putting some stuff up for page views only.
I'll look at your stuff now.

$500.00 is my highest paying online article, so far. But I keep submitting to paying, and non-paying, markets because I love writing and truy don't care if I get money for my work or not. Yes it would be wonderful to get paid more, and more often, but I knew the writing profession was a competitive one when I went full-time with writing & publishing (5 years ago) so I'm not worried. Plus I'm still getting royalty checks from my book publisher for sales of my second book, and I'm currently working on my third book now. Btw, I too have some of my work published on Associated Content.com :) They even mailed me a nice t-shirt with their company logo on it; making me one of their many walking billboards lol. Don't give up hope on making great money, just keep on writing!

The most I have been paid in money so far for a single online article is $50, however I did earn an IPod Nano for an article I wrote last year.
For my online writing I tend to average a minimum of $25 for article length material, with shorter online writing being a minimum of $5 and usually about $10 (100 words or less).

The most I have ever been paid on AC for an article is like $4.13 and that was a long time ago. Lately almost anything I submit there gets rejected, so maybe more of my stuff will have to be for page views. I have considered trying my Writing other places as well for pay, but never seem to have the time, or chicken out for Fear of rejection as well.
Best of luck with your Writing.

i used to have a great writing gig that payed me $10 for every 500 word blog that i wrote - i made quite a bit of money that way! sadly, they suspended their blogs :-( then i got a gig writing 500 words for $3- which was ok as well, then someone was caught plagerizing. there are higher money making sites for writing if you look!

Hmmm, I think maybe the most I've ever gotten was about $5.00.
I've heard them say some people have gotten so many views that they've made $500. I keep hoping for that. ;)

Yeah, wouldn't that be great. I've only been writing articles for a little over a month now, and marketing myself or getting the articles out there for more people to see, is the hardest thing for me. I'm trying to learn though.
Good luck to you on the page views!

I write over at associated content, and the most I've made on one aticle was $5.43. I've done pretty good over there as far as money goes, but trying to come up with great stuff to write about is kind of hard, because there are so many writers and topics that have already been written about. I am however always on the lookout for new writing sites.

Congrats on doing good there. I haven't been with them that long, so my page views aren't too high yet. I have 4 articles in for submission right now that I hope to hear back about soon. The most I've been paid so far by them is 3.36.
I would love to know about some other writing sites also. Especially any more like AC.

You'll get there if you work at it.
Remember: there's someone looking up at your $10 and wishing they too could earn that much.

Well, the three dollar ones are those that they pay me upfront for. As far as the ones paid by page view, I have one that has 1.25 so far but it's on eHow.com. Everybody tells me that we have to make sure to use keywords correctly. That the title has the keyword in it, and the article contains searchable words.

I have been paid $10 for one of my Helium articles, but I am waiting to see if one of my Marketplace articles has been accepted. If it is I will get $40 for it.
I can't write for Associated Content as it is only for people in the USA.
I do get paid more for writing content for a British website and that is my best paid writing.

Helium had a special rewards system that ended last month and I got 9 bucks out of that. I wish I had more, but obviously it wasn't meant to be. Helium takes a long time because it's hard for me to create a referral link at a decent place. Associated Content is moving a little bit faster, for now. Who knows what it will be like for me in a few months.
