Actually, not just lemons. This applies to any food with a high Vitamin C content, such as pineapple, etc. Why? because the Vitamin C (which is ascorbic/ascetic acid i think?) dissolves calcium, and your tooth/enamel is made up of calcium! So your enamel actually gets degraded.
Well, before I knew this, the other day I bought a pineapple, sliced it up, poured some sugar over it, and started eating it directly. By the end of eating it, my teeth were so sore sensitive that they hurt, and i could not eat anything else. Moreover, over the next 4 to 5 days, when I brushed my teeth, they actually HURT!
So, after eating pineapple, lemon, etc, it would be a good idea to rinse your mouth, or maybe mix the pineapple with cream, etc. You should not let the acid stay on your teeth for a prolonged time.

Oh my god! I didn't know that eating lemon is bad for my teeth. My friends and family members told me that eating lemon is good for the theeth. It's totally different from what I know to what you know. I do know pineapple is bad for the teeth. Oh no, I better not eat lemon too much.

Not only could lemons be bad for your teeth, but lemon slices from restaurants could be unhealthy. I just read somewhere that around 70% of all lemon slices that are served in restaurants (with fish, in drinks, etc.) are contaminated with fecal matter, e. coli, and other really disgusting things.
