i think it's right in general. i guess that's because women usually talk about what they are thinking, or whatever is being in their mind. men usually talk only the conclusion.

It is a proven fact that women talk more than men. Why? I have no idea. But it is so true, take a husband and a wife for example, the woman will jut go on an on to her husband about random things, and it never ends. It seems like the man usually tunes out and gives a yup, or sure honey reply at the end. But guys just don't seem to talk as much. They seem to think about things moe than talk about them. Maybe that is why they don't seem to share their emotions as much, becuase they don't talk as much and it takes a lot of words usually to talk about how you feel.

I am woman. and believe me, i do not like chatting so much. it may be the case with most, but there are exception in all places.

yes it is right, atleast in my case. i do keep on talking for hours on phone and in person also. i hv seen many other grls also chat away merrily... but i hv seen few guys also gossip... so it does not stick to grls only.

oh my someone has brainwashed you as far as I am concerned two men outtalk any two women most all the time. you do not find many women sitting in a bar for example that will talk for hours and hours like guys will do. no two women often are quiet when they sit together while two guys try to outtalk each other. lol

i guess it depends on the woman.. i know some that can yap on and on forever and never actually say a single word of substance at all. then there are others that say much in very little time. same goes for men as well.. so it isnt just isolated to the female population. and i dont usually do this, but ive got to say.. if thats you in the pic of yer icon.. you are positively gorgeous!

Well u didnt tell about urself. I am not even close to the cahtter box staement. I am very shy and am very concious of what i speak with others. Well that would have applied before, but i know ppl from both the genders who cant stop talking...

I have met a woman who is a chatterbox. She just has a lot to say about many things. She's charming but I am glad I don't have to talk to her everyday.

They can't just say that women are chatter boxes. Men are just as bad as women when it come to talking too; they chatter just the same. The there are when women can say nothing for hours and sit side by side too.

I am a woman who does not talk much. I enjoy good conversation but I don't like idle chatter. In social situations I will join in or start conversations with other women and with men. I have seen men stand around and say nothing because they lack the social skills of communication. I don't like to see anyone feeling left out and I will make an effort to talk to them. In other situations, if I don't feel the need to talk I won't say anything.

bored women with nothing better to do...that sounds about right...but men do the same thing too...men gossip also...it is all a part of being bored...people who r bored tend to gossip to pass time...

I think so too that it's a generalization or stereotyping.. There are a few women who are really quiet and keeps things to themselves but I still notice that more women are very talkative..it's like there's no tomorrow when they tell stories.. But also, there are men who are really talkative too..especially when all guys come together..they talk about a lot of stuff... and about girls talking non-stop about guys, well... I read in a magazine (guys confessed about this) that guys also do that..when they are with other guys, they also talk about us, girls..not just sports and cars and boy stuff...

To say that all women are chatterboxes is to generalize. This is an old stereotype. Some women ARE chatty, but that is no reason to stereotype all women as being that way. I do talk, but I am not the chatty, gossipy type.
