It was a sleepless night in our house last night.

Thanks to my son, we didn't get a whole lot of sleep last night. For those of you who don't know, my children are grown - in their 20's, and so are some of their cousins.
Around 1:45am the phone rang. It was my nephew, asking if I knew that my son was in the hospital??? First of all I had to wake up, then I went downstairs and lo and behold my son was sound asleep in his bed. My nephew said that his brother had called or messaged him (I don't remember which) to tell him that my son was in the hospital. Well, I assured my nephew that he wasn't. Then I figured, the bars are about to close, so maybe he had been out drinking and was just pretty confused. He said he was at home though. He said he was going to call his brother back and find out what he meant. Their sisters name is similar to my son, I started thinking maybe it was her? So now, I can't go back to sleep, wondering who's in the hospital. About a half hour later, my sister calls because she wanted to know why my son was in the hospital. Her son called her - the same one that called me - letting her know that her other son said my son was in the hospital because of an accident. I told her I had no clue, so she said she was going to call the other son and find out what the deal was. In the meantime, I go downstairs and check AGAIN, just to make sure he's ok. He's breathing and looked ok. I didn't want to wake him, I figure why should we all be awake?? I checked his car, it's ok... After a while I did get back to sleep, but I kept the phone close by in case my sister called me back - or one of my nephews.
Well, this morning, as my son's leaving for work I ask why his cousin would think that he was in the hospital last night. His response - "Oh, I was joking with him before I went to bed and told him that - I thought he knew I was joking." ARGH!!!! I called to tell my sister and she had to cut the call short because she slept through her alarm and was late for work. Guess what my son said "Sorry, I wont do that again." I should have woken him up in the first place!
Kids - gotta love 'em, I think it's in the contract!

Children are most loveable , I do admit it[I never say one harsh word to my dearest son and he himself says I tend to be a little biassed] but what you have written is terrible. What scare it would have given people who really cared!
Hope he means his'sorry' and never repeats it again.

Oh, it won't happen again, that's for sure! He'll probably get a healthy "what-for" from the rest of the family Monday at our picnic.

Oh dear, if that had been me, my parents would have spazzed something fierce on me. At least he apologized though! :)

Eh, it's not worth a huge blow-out, but I'm sure he knows not to do that again!

OH God, You should have woken him up to find out what was going through. You thought he was apoor dear and let him sleep through.. But look what he did. He spoiled your sleep and someother's sleep too.
His simple joke and that too accepted in a very casual way, had cost your sister's and two or three of your nephews ' sleep isn't ? and oh... he was that much casual about the k=joke he had played on all of you.
Yes dear Kids and always kids, you cannot change them.. the cousins were playing a joke and that involved you elders too.. Leave it dear, what can we do about it we can just ask him not to repweat that.. Isn't it?

No, he won't be doing that again! I know most people hate when the phone rings at night anyways, but usually it would be my other son who's in Japan - 14 hour time difference for us.
