If you are looking for the old-fashioned type of yo-yo (wooden), go to Lehman's. They have an online store, in addition to their brick-and-mortar store in Kidron, OH. They have a variety of old-fashioned toys.

I have never ever got the hang of doing the yo yo. But my eight year daughter has about five yo yo's and she is pretty good at playing the yo yo. Where we live you can go into any cheap shop or pocket money shop and you can very eaily buy a yo yo which is good as they very often get tangled up. They only cost about one pound or less. I like to look at the designs on the yo yo's. You could make a hobby of collecting all sorts of yo yo's with different designs on them, or made from different materials, wood, plastic. keep the yo yo alive

Yes, the yo yo is around, just not as popular as it used to be. When we were younger, there was no internet, no cable TV, heck, we didn't even have color in our house! Yo yo's were a challenge for kids who weren't always inside staring at a computer or TV screen. I, personally, never got the hang of yo yo's, but I still believe that it is better, especially for kids, to get up out of their seats and do something physical... even playing with yo yo's. But the competition is too great for them right now. Everything has to have batteries or a plug in order to draw their interest. It's a shame.

They're still available in the stores - we've bought them for the grandchildren and taught them how to play. We like to buy them things like that - something other than video games - we've taught them how to play jacks too!

Hi! I dont mind if the yo yo is out of trend anymore but I still play it. ITs really fun and you get to do neat tricks with it. Its quite addictive too. I mean if a friend sees me playing yo-yos he/she will ask to borrow it and so I let them then the next few days Ill see them again and they are playing yo-yos by them selves. Its a great way to pass the time too. Then they will get tired or I myself will get tired of it and so I wont play it anymore and then Ill forget about it but when I rummage through my old stuff I will one day someday see my old yo yo and I will play it again and the incident that I described above will happen again. I guess yo-yos fate is like a yo-yo itself. One day its the trend and the next day its out but give it a few more time and it will be back again yo-yoing in the streets, school, or anywhere for that matter.^_^
