I'm from Spain, so may native tongue is Spanish. I've been studying English since I was 9 years old, but we only learn grammar, vocabulary and a few expressions in school. So, one day you realize that you can't communicate effectively in spoken English and that you are missing not only most of the words but also the subtle meaning that intonation reveals. Do not stop studying, you need to study to learn a language, practice will help you to master it, but study is crucial. I also advise you to use paltalk. Paltalk is a free text-audio-video chat messenger. There are thousands of rooms categorized and organized for you. Sign up and create your username and whenever you want to practice your spoken english go to the category "Language Learning" (or something like that) and there you'll find other people who want to learn English and also english native speaks of every country: USA, U.K. Australia, South Africa, etc ... You'll find that not only your spoken English will improve, but also your listening skill. YOu'll be able to listen and to speak to people that speak all kind off accents (american, english, aussie, ..) Give it a shot and let me know your experience, I'm not a teacher but maybe I can help you. Good Luck ! Juan

Listen to BBC News (through radio) and try to make note of idioms (words like quid pro quo (one to one relation - it is Latin) find out meaning for each word and try to use them in every day colloquial. Read The Hindu newspaper published in India, which is leading English paper. In your area FM stations, listen to moderators, DJ's commentary. All these help you pick up pronounciation. To develop vocabulory take dictionary, make note of 5 words per day, understand the meaning and try to use them every day. In book stores, there are some books available ENGLISH MADE EASY. Read that book, follow instructions given. Try to talk to people who speak better english, so that in the process your English will improve.

Those are good suggestions. Also, you just need to speak, read, write and listen to English as much as possible.
