My male cat

My male cat "kitty" fetches like a dog. It's hilarious! He only fetches crumpled pages of paper. Well I still think it's amazing. If I'm sorting through papers he is standing right there with excitement in his eyes and meowing. So I have to find a paper that I consider garbage and crumple it and toss it. He brings it back immediatly, and If I don't respond immediatly he will sit and wait and wait. If there is such a thing such as past lives, I'm sure he was a dog. Flowerchild21

I used to have a cat who would fetch a crocheted ball. His name was Sparky, but he passed away a few years ago. I miss him horribly but I saved his little ball and shall always remember how I'd throw the ball and he'd run right after it, bring it back to me and drop it right in front of me...just like a dog. I thought it was so neat!!!

That's so cute! Cats do some really funny things, especially when they think they're being clever. One of our cats took a real liking to her food dish (she had one of those double ones, with water in one side and food in the other). She used to eat the food, then sit where the food had been, and scoot herself around the kitchen floor... spilling water everywhere! The amount of times she got off the dish, and collapsed in a heap because she'd slipped on the water on the floor...

My cat used to do that too. One day he brought his cloth mouse, dropped it on my feet and sat there waiting. I picked up the mouse and tossed it. I was amazed when I saw him running to fetch it and then dropped it on my feet again. I had never seen a cat doing that before and I was amazed. But it seems there are lots of cat-dogs around... lol

My male kitty does the same thing! Only he fetches crumpled balls of paper, tin foil, plastic milk jug seals, or toy mice. He's only started doing it the last few years, which I thought was funny because he's now quite old and it seems more like a kitten trait! It's nice to know other people have cats that behave like dogs :)

Isn't it cute? I had a male kitty who did just that. I was renovating a house and tore out a wall exposing a hole in the floor where wires once went through. The cat loved to take the crumpled balls of paper to the hole, drop them and try to catch them before they went into the hole. (There were a lot of balls of paper in the basement right under the hole.) I'm sorry to say that he has passed on to his next life, wherever that may be. I also had a female kitty who loved to steal dimes. Whenever I was wrapping change, she'd slink over, wait for the right moment, dive in, steal a dime and take it to her hiding place. I finally found her stash. It was under my computer desk. She had quite a pile!
