Judy Garland was born (no, not Esther Blodgett) Frances Gumm. She was largely Irish by ancestry unless I'm mistaken, with English and Scottish and other mixtures. What about other movie stars. It's a fascinating game...isn't it. Any other original names and ancestries? Who was Bernard Schwartz for example? Archibald Leach? Joe Yule? Let's talk movie stars' original names/ancestries.

Yes, I did. He may have been named after his grandfather, also Marion Morrison, a famous Civil War veteran. It seems that once upon a time Marion was acceptably both male and female, unlike today.

Norma Jeane - Marilyn Monroe
I looked up some info on wikipedia because you were asking about ancestry - on there it states something about her biological father being norwegian but she was not even raised by her biological parents. She spent a lot of time with various foster parents. My ex-husband's mother met her when they were about 11 or 12 - I think at the same foster home or place. He had a photo of her and his mother.
