Reusable bags

I was just wondering how many people use those reusable bags that you can buy at a grocery store to put your groceries in instead of using paper or plastic. I work at a major retail store and I see so many people using them. I think it is a good idea to have them and use them because we are wasting so much paper and plastic making those bags that are just going to end up in the trash anyways. I have 5 that I use over and over again.

I also forget to bring them in the store with me sometimes but then I go back out and get them. Thanks for your responce.

I have some grocery sized reusable bags that I use quite often. I keep them in my car and try to remember to bring them into the store with me whenever I buy groceries. Our local grocery store gives a 15 cent discount off your groceries for every reusable bag that you bring.
With the amount of groceries that I buy, I figured that it saves me about $45 a year, which amounts to almost 2 "free" bags of food.

That is a good idea that the store has about giving discounts to people who use these kind of bags. Hopefully more people will use the bags and try to stop some of the waste and trash.

Hi marriedman, though I am not so used to the reusable bags nowadays I still try my best not to waste more plastic bag when shopping. I use only the first plastic bag to dump in all other stuffs that I would buy later. Every time I refuse to put the small items in a new plastic bag that I buy later at the other stalls. I put them all together in one plastic bag. I hope by doing this I would at least to do some thing better to help cutting down the use of plastic bags.
Anyway it is a good idea to bring own reusable bags along when doing shopping at any grocery store. I think I would better to have this good habit as well when shopping.

I also learned that attitude from my mom married man, She always keep all the plastic bags and reuse them since when we will be going in our market, they will not give you free bags, they always charge it so, we always wash them and keep! If only everyone will learn how to do it,what a wonderful world!LOL!

Yeah, I use these. I am so glad that the stores are finally helping to get people more proactive in helping the environment. You'd think the stores would have pushed this long ago. I bet these reusable bags save the stores a lot of money!

you are right my friend.. at this time we have to learn how to recycle things because we can also save by doing this. i agree with you and i also re-use the grocery bags i have when i buy foods at the mall.
